So far I've covered the cost of The Show so I won't have to actually spend any "net" dollars. Find some stuff around the house to sell and cover your finances. It feels go to sell stuff, plus you get The Show.

The Show is a fantastic game to immerse yourself into while learning the game at the same time.

Plus, you're a Chiefs fan, so you've already proven your worth

Honestly, if saving a few $ is your aim, I'd get 10 not 11, right now. You can get that used for around 12 bucks. In my opinion, it is a MUCH easier game to get into baseball with, while still a very very VERY good simulation of baseball. Its just way easier to hit (others will disagree mightily), since it is 1 button hitting rather than analog stick.

Since you are almost entirely new to baseball, I doubt you will be doing much online play for a while, which would be the major advantage to 11 aside from the controls changes, which you won't know the difference.

If you love it, you will have time to grab 12 at a modest discount, with a net outlay of close to the release day $60.

I would NOT buy 11 without first trying the demo which is still up on PSN. The Show is a daunting franchise if you aren't familiar with baseball and prior generations of baseball games.

There is one button hitting in 11 too. You aren't forced to use analog in 11. They don't remove features, just add them.

I haven't played BB games in quite some time now but once I adjusted the hitting sliders in the demo I found it not too frustrating. Just picked up 11 for the PS3 on Amazon for 10 bucks.
