I don't mind it.
Sent from my mobile device."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Re: MLB 12 The Show - Q&A Thread
Hitting was an absolute horror story for me in last year's game no matter what I did. I've read several pages in the Impressions thread and it seems like hitting has gotten a lot better this year.
I don't have time to read every single page of either that or this thread, so I apologize if someone asked this question already and it has been addressed: has hitting truly gotten better in this year's game? I feel like I wasted my money on last year's game because I couldn't hit and wasn't enjoying it as a result. Don't want to purchase this year's game unless I'm guaranteed to enjoy it. Thanks!Comment

Re: MLB 12 The Show - Q&A Thread
Hi
Hitting is really screwing me over, well the stride. Some of my guys on washington have really big strides that take a while to complete, the game says I have to stride just before the ball is released but if i do that with some of them they dont get their foot down before the pitch is made. So do you still do it, when i try to do it a lot earlier to get my foot down, the game says its too early so what do i do?"Are you sure this kids 19?"- Terry FranconaComment

Re: MLB 12 The Show - Q&A Thread
Just going to cross-post this from the RTTS thread:
Forgive me if this isn't the proper place to put this question, but it directly relates to my RTTS career and I didn't want to clog up the board with another new topic.
In MLB The Show 11, I was normally an infielder, so I rarely had to contend with fly balls. This time around I decided to make a left fielder - got drafted to the Dodgers (yikes!) and have gotten a dozen or so games under my belt.
My question/concern - I have switched off any sort of assist in my player movement (i.e - when the ball is hit, he won't take a step or two towards the ball) however I am noticing when a ball is hit anywhere except in front of my player, he ends up taking one or two steps in the wrong direction, which is costing me dearly at times.
For example: A fly ball is hit back behind me. The camera, which was facing home plate now flips back and is looking at the fence. To my perspective, I should be holding "up" on left stick to move back to the fence, however he will take a step or two towards home plate as if the input is lagging behind the camera (still thinks "up" means towards home). By the time it corrects, it's either a close play or a dropped ball.
Just to make sure I wasn't doing something subconsciously, I've even placed the controller in my lap to make 100% sure I didn't leave on any sort of assist.
Any ideas, suggestions on how I can correct this? Or is there a preferred camera setting you outfielders use that would correct this?
Any help is appreciated!Comment

Up your fielding ability and reaction time. This is a part of the game. With low fielding and reaction, your guy will take the wrong first step sometimes.Comment

Re: MLB 12 The Show - Q&A Thread
I have 2 PS3's in my house because I use them as a blu ray player as well. Anyway, on my main TV with surround sound i noticed a very slight delay when i swing, meaning i'm always late on a fastball and late a lot on a change, which shouldnt be. On my other TV, i notice the opposite, i can actually read the fastball and swing in time to hit it and early on a change if i dont wait, which that to me is how it should be. The thing is, my main TV is hooked up to a receiver and surround sound so that is the tv i want to use because of all that, but with the slight delay, its very annoying and frustrating. Does anyone know why this is happening and if there is a way to fix this or is it just my TV or because of the surround sound and that i'm hooked up to the receiver its causing the delay. Any help would be appreciated. THXComment

If your receiver is Internet ready and you use Ethernet hdmi cables, this will fix your problem. I assume you have an onkio receiver, because the better onkio receivers are THX calibrated. However, it starts with the 609 this year or the 700 series from the past 4 years. Cost on the 09 is around $550-$600.Comment
