With the Reds, just finished up my first road series at Wrigley and am sitting at 12-4 after a sweep of the Cubbies. Votto is in a major slump hitting just above .150 but Stubbs and Heisey are tearing the cover off the ball. Stubbs is hitting almost .450 and is third in the national league in average. Heisey has six homeruns and ranks sixth in the NL.
Bruce went down during the first series with the Cards with an inflamed hip and won't be back until May. So Willie Harris got the call up and has not had one single hit during his time rotating in the outfield with Heisey, Stubbs and Ludwick.
Cozart is struggling at the plate and if he doesn't improve by the middle of May there may be an early Billy Hamilton sighting at Great American.
Pitching wise:
Cueto is 4-0
Latos is 1-1 and was battered by the fish but had 9 k's and a cg shutout against the birds.
Chapman is 5th in my rotation and is also 1-1 and has pitched well but usually doesn't make it out of the fifth (I set his stamina to 65 when i converted him to a starter) and missed out on a couple decisions.
Madsen has taken two of the four losses on blown saves. Both were walkoff jacks in the 9th.
Humorous side note I have already faced two recent Reds pitchers. I traded Bailey to the Nats for Lannan and Renton and he is their 5th starter. I can't stand Bailey and loved it when we had him down 4-0 in the second after Phillips scored on a Cozart double and Stubbs, Heisey and Mesoraco all went deep off him. He hung in there though and kept us off the board further till he left in the 6th.
Then we faced Wood during the Cubs series and battered him around but that wasn't nearly as satisfying.
