    Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread

    White Sox franchise. 4-6 record.

I need help big time with Adam Dunn..the guy is useless and I would like to trade him for either a speedy base stealer, or a power hitter...any help guys?

Just finished Game 1 vs the O's and I lost 3-2 in 19 innings. Bronson Arroyo started and left in the 7th with a 2-1 lead. Dontrelle Willis gave up a run ^9th to tie the game at 2's and then ^19th someone on the O's hit an RBI double to kill me.

My pitching is great but my hitting is awful. I rarely ever get on 2nd or 3rd.

    Starting Pitchers:

    1. Clay Buchholz
    2. John Danks
    3. Gavin Floyd
    4. Bronson Arroyo
    5. Dylan Axelrod

    Relief Pitchers:

    1. Dice-K
    2. Jon Garland
    3. D-Willis
    4. Matt Thorton
    5. (CL) Freddy Garcia
    RIP G.E.A.

Decided like most of you guys did and started a new franchise with the OSFM OD rosters.I chose the Blue Jays as they have a mix of everything I want in a team with a great farm system, young MLB roster and tough division.

Through 9 games we are 4-5, coming off of winning our 1st series of the season against the O's.

Brett Lawrie has simply been a juggernaut for me as I decided to bat him in the 3 hole infront of Bautista and it has totally paid off, He's batting .378 with 4 homers and 11 RBI.The last game against the O's he hit a PH walk off 3 run home run to give us the rubber game and series win.I was screaming like a sissy lol.

Jose Bautista has been great as well batting .290 with 8 rbi and 4 homers.Ricky Romero is 2-0 with a 1.86 ERA and JP Arencibia is giving me a heart attack batting a solid .076! Travis D' Anaurd will be here soon if JP doesn't wake up.

Right now we head to Tampa(I think?) Who are struggling at 1-8.Hopefully they stay playing that way

        Man...
After starting off pretty hot with the Mets....the Giants just rolled into town and swept me in four straight. In one game I had a 8-2 lead and just fell apart in the 8th inning and wound up losing in 12 ...12-8.
I just wrapped it up by ruining a gem by Santana who went 7 strong and my newly acquired lefty...Javier Lopez....from guess who?(GIANTS!...no wonder why they waived him!) gave up a two run homer to Sandoval to tie it...and then a sac fly to Sandoval two innings later(I need 3 inning from a RP) and wound up losing 5-4.
        Broom swept.

Playing in my Brewers franchise about 50 games in and both Nyjer Morgan and ARam just went down for 2 months.

Thinking about bringing Casey Blake in off the free agents list because he's got some power that can replace ARam for the time being.

Do you guys think that's a decent enough move? Or should I look trade or call a guy up?

            1st: Marlins (--)
            2nd: Nationals (6.5)
            3rd: Phillies (13.5)
            4th: Mets (21.0)
            5th: Braves (25.0)

            Notes:
            • Not a bad year for the Phils, but theres almost no way that I make the playoffs at this point. The Nationals and Marlins are just on an absolute tear.
            • Division Leaders are as followed. Cardinals (9.5 GA), Diamondbacks (0.5 GA of Giants), Nats (WC, 3.5 GA), Red Sox (2.5 GA of Yanks), Tigers (9.0 GA), Rangers (8.5 GA), Yankees (WC, 2.0 GA)
            • Braun leads the NL in BA (.324), and Hamilton in the AL (.318).
            • Votto/Stanton lead the NL in HR's (31 a piece), Bautista in the AL (38).
            • Granderson has 99 RBIs, Stanton has 98.
            • As for the Phillies...
            • Utley is hitting .283 upon his return, but his slugging is a lowly .403.
            • Howard has been a beast of late, hitting .269 with 18 HR's (only played about 2/3rds of season, maybe less).
            • The Phillies are 4th in ERA, with 3 starters below 3.00 and Hamels at 3.03.
            • However, they are 23rd in runs scored.
            • Since I traded him, J-Roll is hitting .304, with two HR's for Boston.
Made it to the offseason after playing a few more games and simming about every 5 or so. I'm in the Free Agency part of the year, but the only decent players are Kyle Farnsworth and Ichiro (anyone know why this is?), so I might not even bother. Other than that...
            • Howard and Utley regressed a lot.
            • John Mayberry Junior progressed a ton.
            • Resigned Victorino, Hamels (very expensive), and Pence. All to 3+ year deals, so I feel pretty good about that. I saved unnecessary money for guys in Free Agency, but there really wasn't anyone like I mentioned above.

              Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread

My domination of the Mets finally ended. After sweeping them to open the season, my Braves took the first two at Turner Field - 4-1 and 5-1. But R.A. Dickey and his knuckleball confounded the Braves in the getaway game, as Dickey tossed a 2-hitter in a 4-0 Mets win. As the Braves head to Arizona, they still have a piece of first in the NL East.

Chipper is still on fire, batting over .500. McCann is among the league leaders in RBIs with 11. Uggla continues to struggle, batting .154 with no homers and 4 RBIs.

I'm tempted to send Costanza down and bring up Sutton for an extra infielder. But that speed is nice to have on the bench, and both Prado and Hinske can play IF.

              Braves (8-4)
              Marlins (8-4)
              Mets (7-5)
              Phillies (6-6)
              Nationals (6-7)

If it's just power you're looking for....
Blake isn't bad as he's just a replacement.
But if the O's are out of it...Mark Reynolds has some serious pop.

I also play with the Brewers, no big named players hurt yet. I did call up Eric Farris from the minors and he has been a good prospect so far.

Farris might not be great in real life, but try calling him up because he can play 3rd. Farris has done well for me, but whats so great about this game is, everyone season will not play the same.

About the embark on a series that should feature very low running scoring. Seattle will take on the Giants at Safeco, and the match ups are bound to be brilliant. Game one features the stunning Hisashi Iwamuma verse Barry Zito. Game two matches up Felix Hernandez verse Tim Lincecum, and game three sees Matt Garza battle Matt Cain. Should be good.

                    NFL - Philadelphia Eagles

                      Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread

I am now 1-4 in my Mariners franchise.

After blowing two late leads in the opening four-game series in Oakland, I was able to eek out a win in 12 innings in game four. Casper Wells hit a go-ahead double in the 11th but Brandon League blew his second save (in as many chances! SMH) and it took another double by Smoak to pull ahead in the 12th. I left League out there to right his wrongs and he closed the door, notching the win.

My first game in Texas wasn't so good though. I got smacked 11-3, owned by Darvish in his major league debut. He was pitching a one hitter until the 7th when I strung together a couple hits and Olivo hit a 3-run HR. Besides that, he was unhittable. Kevin Millwood pitched great for 3 innings and then everything unraveled. My pitching has been very suspect so far, so hopefully the Big Three in AA can progress fast lol.

My offense has been terrible outside of Justin Smoak, who's hitting over .500 with a HR and 7 RBI so far.

                        Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread

I am now 19-9 in my Nationals Franchise. second in the division behind the phillies who are on a 13 game winning streak

In a series with the phillies now, they took game 1 3-2.

In game two, i scored a run in the first off a Zimmerman single. Jordan Zimmerman pitched great, giving up one run in 7 innings. Ian Desmond was able to hit a sac fly in the bottom half of the 7th to give me the lead. Clippard got the hold to set it up for Storen in the 9th. On the season, Storen was 10/10 saves in 10.2 Innings, 17 SO 0 BB and 0H. He was perfect. So what does he do? gives up a HR to Ty Wigginton in the 9th. Then gives up HR's to Utley and Howard and the phillies win 6-2.

Some good came out of this game though

Ryan Zimmerman got out of his cold spell with a 4-5 game

Ian Desmond did the same with a 3-4 game

On to game 3 where i can hopefully get a win. Edwin Jackson Vs Vance Worley
                        The Washington Redskins
                        The Washington Nationals
                        The Washington Wizards

Most my replays deleted when my ps3 overheated but here's my april:

I made it quick so it's kind of crap but i'm going to make a good may one.

Nova has been ripping it up. Andruw is probably my sleeper. He's hitting like .340 in a small roll but is always on point when I do bring him in. Same with Ibanez. He's only hitting like 230ish but has a high OBP as I get walks with him easy.
