    Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread

    I'm now 50 games into my Braves dynasty. This is the earliest I've reached 50 games since MVP 05. I may actually finish a season this year. Seems like a good time to give a full update, so here it goes:

    Playing with the stock rosters, I made one trade a couple of days ago. Sent minor league shortstop Brandon Hicks to the Reds for utility man Willie Harris. Sent Jose Constanza down to AAA to make room for Harris.

      Backup Izturis went down for the year (I'm the Brewers a week before the trade deadline). He was a great SS and 2B sub when I needed him. I have every other position covered for subs on the field other than SS and 2B. Does anyone have suggestions whether I should call up a guy, pick up a FA or just trade for someone? I'm making a playoff push.

      Was thinking either Felipe Lopez from FA or Brian Roberts from Baltimore but I'd feel goofy using Roberts as a sub player.

        How Do You REDS fans do it!!!

        Just completed a 4-game set with the reds at GABP (Braves 'Chise)
        Long story short....

        20 combined HR's in 4 games
        52 combined runs score

        And I limp out of town by pulling off hitting 3 solo bombs.. one in the 8th, one in the 9th, and one in the 10th to escape without getting swept... and this coming from a Braves squad ranked last in MLB in HR's entering this series.

        Place plays way to much like the real GABP. My nerves couldn't handle that all year!

        Keep it up SCEA!!!

          sitting in last at 27-38 in year 2 of my Padres chise.

          Been hit with the injury bug and have quit a few prospects called up and starting (Gyorko, Liriano etc). Anyways, I noticed Joe Ross was 7-2 in AA and and Tim Stauffer for my MLB club is at 3-7. Interleague is about to start and I see I play Oakland and their game 1 starter is Tyson Ross......looks like someone is getting called up for a spot start and MLB debut against his bro.

            Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread

            Hi guys.

            I'm currently 5-4 with the KC Royals after losing 2 games on the road to the Angels, then grab a couple of wins in the 3-game series on the road against Oakland, before going home and getting a couple more (2-1) against the Indians.

            Really enjoying it so far! BUT I got a quick question as this is my first time playing the franchise mode...

            I am playing with the 30 team control franchise file done by Halara with the OSFM v3, but I let the the other teams have everything set to AUTO on their profile. I've seen the other teams pick up guys from FA (which I'm perfectly fine with), the other teams have also put some guys on waivers (everyone being D pot guys, so I haven't worried about this). But today the Pittsburg Pirates waived 1B Garrett Jones, which I think is a little odd.

            So my question is how do I stop this from happening in the future, and what can I do with Jones? I would like to grab him, but would that be cheating the CPU? And is there anything I need to know about things that may happen if I claim him of waivers?

            Okay, that was way more than 1 question but I hope they will be answered anyways.

            /Cheers

              Unfortunately MlB 12 The Show is plagued with logic issues...not much you can realistically do..take him if you really need him..

                Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread

                Following the franchise's tenth world championship, the A's began an eventful offseason. Manny Ramirez, who hit .300+ in the postseason, retired after winning his third ring. In the five day exclusive negotiation period, the A's agreed to five year deals with James Shields, Ryan Madson, and Mark Reynolds. Jair Jurrjens agreed to a four year deal, and Brandon Allen signed a three year contract. Once free agency began the A's didn't waste any time spending money, agreeing to a five year deal with Edwin Jackson and a four year deal with Rickie Weeks. Edwin Encarnacion also signed with the defending champs, agreeing to a one year deal. Oakland made two trades, sending Coco Crisp to Washington and Gordon Beckham to Kansas City, receiving four prospects. The A's will look to defend their title in 2013

                        3-3 in my Tigers franchise. Had to restart after the latest patch. My bullpen has been a mess so far, but the offense has been fantastic. I just had a Verlander vs David Price matchup, and Verlander struck out 11 in 7 innings, giving up one run. I'm keeping Victor Martinez in the minors until September. I'm hoping I get through all 162 games this time.

                          how are you guys getting so many strikeouts? im using all-star analog pitching and just had a complete game with weaver against the Royals and had 3Ks, im lucky if i ever get 5 in a game with a pitcher. in my brewers chise i averaged 4 with Greinke

                            I use meter pitching, and for me, its all about hitting that meter in the middle of the yellow. I used to hit it right when the blue hit the yellow, which gave me more accuracy. But I think the added movement and velocity gets me more k's. Of my 11 strikeouts with Verlander, all were swings and misses

                              Blue Jays Franchise
                              i figured what the hell i always see the blue jays getting a high pick when i do fantasy drafts, let me try them out. wound up with the first pick and took matt kemp. I am using a OSFM v4 roster position player edits and Kemp is in the top 5 players i think he was 3rd overall behind miggy cabrera and hamilton but i went with kemp. with it all said and done this is how my line up looks
                              1. SS - Alexi Ramirez
                              2. 1B - Freddie Freeman
                              3. CF - Matt Kemp
                              4. 3B - Alex Rodriguez (love his re rate because hes like 02 Arod)
                              5. RF - Giancarlo Stanton
                              6. LF - Josh Willingham
                              7. DH - Anthony Rizzo
                              8. C - Miguel Montero
                              9. 2B - Jordany Valdespin

                              3. Willy Peralta
                              4. Aj Burnett
                              5. Dylan Bundy

                              David Robertson

                              Notable Minors
                              Aj Cole
                              Gerrit Cole
                              Tijuan Walker
                              Shelby Miller
                              Trevor May

                              Justin Smoak
                              Colby Rasmus
                              Andrew Cave
                              Jake Marisnick
                              and about 5 other A potential real life dominators that i cant remember

                              After 1 month (my sliders- i move up all Human stats +1)
                              we are like 17-4 killing the AL East #1 rated team
                              kemp = .420/17/31
                              Stanton = .449/15/28
                              Freeman = .378/14/29
                              Arod =.331/15/21

                              Those guys are just tearing the cover off the ball, i think i may go back down to normal sliders but sometimes we win a 3-2 or 2-1 game and sometimes we win 14-0
                              Aj Burnett has come back from the dead - hes 3-0 with a 2.07 ERA and 31 K's
                              Pettitte - 3-1 4.56 ERA
                              Hellickson - 3-0 2.79 ERA
                              Bundy - 1-2 5.32 ERA
                              Peralta - 2-1 3.76 ERA

                              i sim the pitching because none of the guys are too fun to pitch with and i know i can bail them out 9/10 times with the offense.

                              trying to get a dynasty page together but i am having a little bit of trouble, ill try and keep this somewhat updated for anyone that is interested.

                              thanks for reading
