Phillies are firmly in first place up 10 games in front of the Marlins and Nationals.
They had Hamel on the block, he has an expiring contract and he is their number 3 who will garner #1 money. Ramirez has a friendly contract with 2 years left and he is an "A" potential former All-Star that can play SS or 3B. Polanco is 36, expiring contract. Probably his last year (if he retires).
I offered Hanely for both and they bit. Hamels, Johnson and Burele will be a nice 1,2,3.
I plan on seeing if Dominguez can win the 3B job next spring. Dobbs is on the roster too. And Polanco obviously will start for me the rest of the season at that spot.
I think the trade is realistic from a cap standpoint. Plus the Phills wanted a young stud like player like Hanely.
