Can we get a Vita impressions thread?

I keep hearing bad things about the graphics and would like to hear some OS members views on the game

If you go in expecting it to look like the PS3 retail version you will probably disappointed other than that the graphics are fine IMO

To me this game gives me the opportunity to get out the cave and no matter where I'm at my franchise continues. Franchise will get done a lot faster this year thanks to SCEA and crew.

Gameplay is pretty damn good and I'm pleased so far

Got mine today from Planet Axel - graphics ARE ropey definitely

Very blurry textures, angular models, ugly faces and also fair bit of slow down. Pretty disappointed on first play through. Its not terrible, but certainly was expecting better considering the power of the Vita and the quality of The Show on the PS3.

Feels a bit like an afterthought with the lack of presentation too (game is fixed to 'quick play' mode), with no replays or anything decent broadcast wise which is also really jarring.

The gameplay does start to shine through and after the initial disappointment, I'm having some fun with it, but not as good as I thought it would be or as it should be I feel.

Good god. That little video of the vita version that was floating around was decent looking... What the hell is this?

Also, didn't we have community day impressions or something from someone saying the two versions were almost indistinguishable?

Its so weird, like you say, the preview vids (albeit all the ones I saw were taken off the device 'over the shoulder'?) looked ok.

This honestly looks like an original PSP game in motion. When you having played Unchartered, FIFA, Unit 13, Wipeout etc, then this looks embarrassing.

Keep thinking I've got a setting wrong?!

Yes, I was a bit disappointed about the graphics at first, as well. But, honestly your eyes get used to it. The gameplay is unaffected and the graphics, whereas not perfect, are close enough to the real thing.

That baseball is too big for my taste, though. Not saying they should have changed it but it really looks weird and what looks even funnier is that when the ball is in play it's got this XXL size and when the ball is caught, it reverts back to its original size. I wear contacts and my eyesight is far from decent (-10.5, even with contacts on I have issues) and I still prefer the normal-sized ball.

My question (and I hope a dev catches this) is: Do we need to use an American PSN account to use the cross-platform save functionality? I am in Europe and, to be honest, I am scared to even try to enter my online pass because I'm not sure if, once I do, I'll lose my chance to save my games to the cloud and then will have to end up buying another online pass...

What the heck was expecting a lot better graphics thought the vita was a powerhouse. I just bought a vita for this game specifically the graphics look like psp. Wow hope you just took some bad pics or something.

Yep, the over the shoulder vids are the ones I meant. You'd think they would be legit since we were seeing someone actually playing. Unless they were just streaming the ps3 version, but I don't believe remote play is fully supported yet.

I don't know man. This game was the biggest reason I got a Vita, but those screens look like total ****.

To be honest, staring at stills really makes the game look worse than it really is. The game does look pixelated and it is obvious that it isn't as good looking as its bigger brother but it really isn't a game breaker, at least not to me.

Plus, going to the gym and playing while doing some cardio (sitting down, obviously) was priceless.

That's why I got a Vita too. Maybe they look so bad because they are zoomed in. Or, maybe that's why Sony is not releasing very many pics and very little video.
