Re: MLB 12 The Show - Vita Impressions Thread
Is there a letency issue with the controls on the Vita? I know with pulse pitching I could never hit the mark unless I purposely pressed the button when the meter was all the way out. I am particularly sensitive to this because I tweaked my large TV in game mode to get the controller as resposive as possible and can now nail the pulse pitching so that it stops exactly when I press it.
In contrast the Vita is delayed worse than my 60" LCD ever was, even at the worst setting. I would have though input lag would be non-existent on a portable device with everything built in.
Since I bought the Vita exclusively for the SHow, I am seriously considering returning it. When I played the PS3 version after 5-6 vita games, it was like heaven as far as responsiveness goes.
Still......I may try it somemore and not make a kneejerk decision.
Other than changin pitch delay to slowest, is there any other way to slow down the pitching in this game? Not the speed of the ball, but the time between pitches? I hate feeling rushed. I play video games to relax....not for another thing in life that is rushing me!
Thanks.Comment

Re: MLB 12 The Show - Vita Impressions Thread
Anyone know how to change outfielders when fielding? It's cost me a play or two.
Two things I'd like to see work better. Changing fielders (unless you can and I don't know how) and showing the pitch type and location the catchers call for.Originally posted by Anthony BourdainThe celebrity chef culture is a remarkable and admittedly annoying phenomenon. Re: MLB 12 The Show - Vita Impressions Thread
I thought the fileding instructions said there is no way to change fielders on the vita version. I could be wrong but read the digital manual.
I was able to pick up this game this weekend and I must say it has a pretty steep learning curve. I started out with pulse pitching and analog plus direction batting. Man do I suck! My last game I had 23 strike outs and lost 7-0, I felt good because I was only down 1-0 in the bottom of 7th, then the wheels fell off. I was able to pick up 8 strike outs my self so I was doing better in the picthing department.
One thing about the vita I don't like is the way it updates games. I didn't realize there was an update until I pressed the Orange button from the main game screen that showed a update was available.Last edited by moose1619; 03-27-2012, 05:50 PM.I can do all things in Christ who strengthens me!

It would be nice if you were prompted to update the game automatically, like when you pop a disc into the PS3.
Zone Analog ... dude you get props for even attempting that on the Vita. I'm pretty sure if I used that mechanic, I'd get no-hit every time. As it is, I struggle using Timing.
The game is a blast to play, though. So enjoyable to get 1-2 games in a night before I go to bed.Currently Playing:

I can't close out a game to save my life. I have a 3-7 record with 4 Blown Saves. Why do all my relievers **** the bed when the game is on the line? I don't pitch any differently than I do with my starter, but my starter will go 7 innings, leave the game with a 4-2 or 5-2 lead, and my relievers can't hold onto it, ever. It's really frustrating to spend 45 min. playing a game, leading most of the way, or scratching back to take a lead, only to have it vanish in a few seconds by a dribbler in between first and second, a throwing error by my SS, and then next thing you know, BOOM it's a three run jack and were tied or the games over. Nothing like that ever happens when I'm down a couple in the ninth, though. But otherwise, I love the game and my hitting is greatly improved, my pitching is very good, atleast until its the 8th or 9th inning.Comment

Re: MLB 12 The Show - Vita Impressions Thread
I really wasn't that impressed by the Vita version of the show. The scale just seemed smaller when compared to the console. Why pay money for a portable version when the console version seems so much deeper? Especially when the Vita is least portable console to date?
I'm not sure I'll buy next year's vita version.Comment

Re: MLB 12 The Show - Vita Impressions Thread
It's not really fair to compare portable games to their console version - you have to compare portable games with portable games. The fact is, this is the best portable baseball game to date. Do I prefer the PS3 version? Absolutely. But I'm already through close to a month's worth of games with my test franchise (while waiting on OSFM ), all of which has been played on the Vita. With kids, work, coaching and umping baseball, etc, I just don't have the time I'd like to spend on the PS3 version. Thank goodness for the Vita!
