I'm 30 and this will be my first time getting the show. Never really got into baseball games because I don't really know the sport very well as far as strategy. I watch baseball all the time so hopefully it won't be as tough as I think its going to be.

Re: How old are you, MLB the Show fan?
I was pretty much the same in 08 when I got the show for Ps3. I'd always been a fan of baseball but never really paid much attention to the strategy, statistics and the little thigs and believe me I've learned tons just from playing the show.ephemeralComment

38. Started with odessy and intellivision baseball. When the original NES baseball hit I saved money for weeks to get it. I kept my own stats for that game with it's 6 teams!
Caved in last year got a PS3 for show11 and have been playing nonstop year round. The Show has destoryed almost all enjoyment of other video games for me.Comment

Re: How old are you, MLB the Show fan?
it's that time once a year to dust off my ps3! hi, my name is eric, & i'm a mlb the show addict & i'm so glad to see a ton of old fogies in here still playing this amazing game! i'm actually surprised that my age group is the most played of all age groups. i, myself, just turned 42 years of age & i am just as excited for this tuesday as i am every year, maybe even more! nowadays i do not play other games as much as i used to with the exception of the show & it's a preorder for me every year. besides the show every year these days i always preorder ea nhl, madden, cod & maybe a racing game. i've been playing baseball since i was 4 years old & it's my life. in fact i just got back from spring training like i do every year, with the exception of last year due to my daughter being born. C'MON TUESDAY!!!!!Last edited by enice128; 03-04-2012, 04:35 PM.Comment

[QUOTE=capa;2043425131]Will be 56 on Monday the 12th. Grew up watching Mantle and Maris in NY. Saw all the guys in the 60's...Mays, Aaron, Cepeda, McCovey, Seaver, etc. I am so old, I was chasing skirts when the Mets won the 69 series!!
It's in the blood. You guys will be playing MLB 2032 Hologram Baseball when it's time for my dirt nap.

Re: How old are you, MLB the Show fan?
I'm 52, and have learned over the years to : 1. NOT talk to my wife about how amazing sports video games are becoming and how immersive they are so that I can: 2. Not get the "rolling of the eyes" and the "That's great Honey..Now, how about unloading the dishwasher / washing the car/those other 20 things on the Honey-Do list" type responses.
It helps to be the bread winner and having a Man-Cave though..Comment

Re: How old are you, MLB the Show fan?
I'll be 42 in June, I'm a high school World history teacher/football coach and my kids think it's cool that they can look me up online on the PS3 to get some gaming in. It works two-fold, because to my surprise they all joined a league with me this year with NCAA and the promise was that they had to keep their grades at "B" or better in my class in order stay in the league. They all kept their end of the bargain. Plans are already in place for us to do a league for The Show this year.
I also don't think it's a stretch anymore to see the large number of age 40+ guys still gaming. Most of us grew up gaming, albeit on the old vintage systems (Atari, Sega, Nintendo, etc.) as opposed to the fact that when we were kids, you would never see guys in their 30's-40's playing video games.Comment
