PCI is STILL broken for behind the pitcher batting!

Played the game at my local Best Buy today.
What a huge disappointment. The new highly touted PCI is still reversed when batting BTP.
The horizontal direction does NOT work properly. In other words when batting with a right handed hitter swinging the PCI at a DOWN AND AWAY pitch results in a miss regardless of timing and location as the swing still registers as a DOWN AND IN swing.

I urged the devs to adjust this but to no avail. Bad news for those of us that simulate a true broadcast perspective.

man, that stinks. i bat from BTP view ...do you know if this is the case with the new analog zone hitting?

I honestly can't blame Developement for not focusing on this (not excusing them, just saying I understand). It's extremely difficult to get "sim results" when distinguishing between borderline strikes/balls is tough, at best, from most of the Broadcast views.

Remember, though not an ideal solution for you, Timing hitting is still an option and will work well. It will also make ratings play more of a role in the game's outcome rather than skill, and will be easier for you to judge pitches with because of its ease of use.

Most people do not hit from behind the pitcher unless they're using MOM or CPU vs. CPU mode. Again, this is not an excuse, but at least it's a valid explanation. Hopefully a Dev will see this and determine whether a fix is possible through a patch or not.

      Good luck.

yeah, it would be nice if the devs could fix this. i bat from "a" custom btp cam in '11 that i found where i can read pitches with slower pitch speed adjusted. i like it looking like a broadcast when i play, but also like to have my "stick" skills determine my hit and pitch success (i''ll be using zone analog batting / pulse pitching).

to the OP, do you know if this is broken whether or not the PCI icon is turned off vs on? in '11, i batted from BTP view with zone option with PCI on and had pretty good success hitting and never noticed misses where i should have made contact...maybe it's one of those problems that are not noticed if one never knows a problem exists. ...now that i know it's potentially broken

Thanks for the ideas. Timing just doesn't feel enough of a challenge. I really want the challenge of hitting Zone Analog from BTP as it sims a true broadcast.

I wish you could've watch me hit in 11. I made it look very challenging!

That doesnt seem to be an actual broken setting in the game, just more of a personal preference on your part. While the camera view is BTP, if your swinging at a low and away pitch by pulling the joystick down and left, that would be an inside swing from the perspective of the batter. So in a true sense the batter is swinging to the location you inputted, they would have to add in multiple lines of code that activated only in that camera view, much like the fielder throw locations in RTTS since it is first person

The multiple lines of code stuff is undoubtedly true. However, the ball marker does work properly from both directions while pitching, so the OP's request is certainly a valid one.

I'll ask about it. I don't know if there is some other design element that makes this change difficult, but it seems like it should be possible to flip input around that axis based on the camera selection.

Not to be rude or anything, but this isn't what I would call a "Broken" thing. It's more of an issue for you because of your different play style. You do however make a valid point, and this is something that you would think could be fixed easily... You could also change the batting setting to TIMING, where you don't have to locate your PCI, but it's a cheaper alt. to those who love a challenge.

I tried hitting from the broadcast view in a few games today using timing hitting. It made hitting about 2989381291328 times easier!!!!!!!!!! I am not sure if this was a good thing but it almost feels like cheating when hitting from this view to me at least.

No, you may be right. "Broken" is probably not correct. "Unsupported" may be better.
                            Pretty big letdown, nonetheless.
