Anyone else going to hold off until the last patch is released?

I'm thinking of waiting to buy the game until they release the last patch. The reason is MLB 10 and MLB 11 really, really annoyed me with how many glitches they had when released. The games are good now of course, but it just sucks waiting for them to release a patch weeks and months after it comes out.

The games were always polished until the last couple of years. It's like I'm pretty much expecting MLB 12 to be a glitchfest again. At least until the last patch whcih will probably be in May or June.

Not me, I didn't see any glitches last year from day 1 but I saw a lot of you guys posting them on the site.

Also glitches don't stop me

I may....but I havent decided yet.

I've gotten burned big time on NCAA Football over the last few years. Last issue with MLB the Show that burned me was 09 when all of the Cubs games were night games. Other than that, I can't recall any real showstoppers.

Your going to hold out till mid-season to play? WOW, you have strength that most people don't! I could never put my passion for baseball on hold that long!

Feel free to hold out as long as you want, I'm simply going to enjoy the game during those months. There were barely any glitches and certainly no game breakers. Some of you guys focus on the little negatives instead of the countless positives. It's almost like owning a Ferrari but complaining about the gas mileage.

Getting it for 10-20 bucks cheaper for one.

Well, sports games are time sensitive to me. The season will be half way done by then.

To me it sounds silly to hold off because of one or two minor little glitches here and there, LOL.

With some games, this is a prudent move. The devs making this game typically make patches that work with existing Franchises/RTTS's so there is little reason to hold off.

I always use the first month or so before the OS rosters come out to make a test RTTS, find what interfaces work best for me (especially last year and this year) and generally get a "feel" for the game. Some slider experimentation does happen too but I usually leave that to the experts.

I don't really understand the logic or point in this to be honest. You're buying the game anyway. Clearly it's good enough to be worth your money. Just seems like you're making something out of nothing. Personally I'd much rather see the devs dedicate their time to something new, like ball physics, and address the glitches as they come. The OP is almost implying he'd prefer a game called MLB The Show 11.5: Now Glitch Free. Patches exist for a reason.

So what IF there is a major bug or two? Then those who bought the game on release day will b**ch and moan about the developers releasing a broken game ect, ect. The logic is actually very smart to hold off on buying any software or system until they have the bugs and such worked out. This way, if the developers don't somehow get the game to what it should be (see NHL 12), you don't waste your money. It's called smart shopping folks.
