Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread

i have a SP for the Twins. Stubi Canaan (the announcers read it "Stubby Cannon", i think of it as "Stu-be Ka-non). an angry little 5'8 French Canadian who smokes cigarettes on the mound. he refuses to learn even basic english, so interviews are basically non-existent. he has an ugly mug and a typical Frenchie mustache.

he had something like 120 strikeouts in AAA, even after getting benched mid season for refusing to train his bunt. he's a wildcard like that, take him as he is or don't take him at all...

    lol dumb 1st post.

I have a pitcher who is 12-0 with 180 innings pitched over 200k's and a under 1 ERA and just got promoted to AAA And then got traded from the yanks to the Rockies and the Rockies stuck me in the pen for awhile and now i am back in the Rotation sitting at 5-0 under 1 ERA and i can't for the life of me get called up and i can't figure out why.

      Any tips/Advice?

I think it's because the Show uses ratings more than stats for it's decisions.
Hopefully, they work the balance on this for faster promotions(and sticking) for '13.

Has anyone ever been traded when you ask the team for one?

Yes. I think you get a message that the club is trying to find you a new team. It doesn't happen in an instant though.

Finally found my way back to this part of the forum. Since my last post in here -- which was a LONG time ago -- I have made a few players.

I made a pitcher and at just 20 years old I managed to max out everything. Thanks in part to a lot of complete game shutouts.

I made it up half way through 2013, went 14-1 with a 0.84 ERA. Then in my first full season went 27-1 with a 0.85 ERA and won the Cy Young and MVP.

I also have a hitter that I have two full seasons in the books. I think I managed to hit 55+ homers each season while hitting almost .400.

Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread

Decided to delve back into my show 'chise and RTTS and had a question, that I couldn't seem to find an answer for anywhere after hours of searching.

My 2B is always WAY late on fastballs, even high 80s fastballs. His ratings are all pretty high, high 80s contact, low 90s VIS, low 90s power. I was getting frustrated, its beginning to be unplayable. I have moved the pitch speed slider all the way down and even reduced the skill level to rookie to see if that helped. Nothing did, I literally have to swing as the pitcher releases the ball to get good timing.

I loaded up my franchise and have no problem timing there; has anyone else experienced this and found a remedy?

Sounds like your slider setting is not reflected properly, or you might be on a different difficulty level...

After hitting .313, 57 HR, 151 RBI for the Jays, my SS signed a 6-year, 127 mill contract with the Rangers. But even with a 99 durability rating, he tore his ACL sliding into 2nd and was out for his first season with the Rangers! Texas went on to lose the 2018 WS in 7 games to the Reds.

It's too late for me to change now, but for future reference, is there any way to undo an injury, other than playing without autosave?

Decided to get back into my 3B RttS. I'm in my first season in the bigs after two years of tearing the cover off the ball in AA and AAA for 3 different organisations (drafted by CIN, traded to BOS, then to STL).

After simming spring training, I struggled in the first month against the major league pitching in a part-time roll playing LF and RF. However during the second month I have started to improve. I'm putting the ball in play, raising my average and seem to have become the go-to pinch hitter from the bench, posting a .344 BA w/RISP. In my most recent game, a start in LF against the Astros, I went 2-4, hitting my first big league triple in my first AB off J.A. Happ, and my first big league HR off Jared Cosart in my last AB, followed by me saving the replay from about 5 different angles.

If I have two complaints, they'd be:

                        1) I'm yet to log a single inning in the majors at 3B, despite it being the position I played almost exclusively in the minors
                        2) I'm not getting a lot of AB's against lefties, despite my murdering of left handed pitching at every level thus far.

I started a new Center Field career and I got drafted by the Kansas City Royals (Oh God) in my first season I was an allstar at AA and by the end of the season I had a .275 batting average 15 HR 131 hits and 78 RBI's. I hope to improve onto those stats for next season.

You can buy an injury heal for your RTTS player in the PS Store. I believe it costs $0.99.

I played Franchise mode from release day until the end of the season, so I never played RTTS until I started one the other night.

I made a 20 year old switch-hitting power third baseman named after my son. I was drafted by the Giants. After only about a month and a half at AA I was called up to Triple-A to replace an injured player. My stats in AA weren't bad, but I was still surprised to see the call-up. I believe an average around .300, 6 homers, and about 30 RBI.

Anyhow, in my first at-bat in AAA I hit a 3-run home run. Pretty sweet. I'm thinking I was only going to be up for a few days, but I ended up playing well enough to win the everyday third base job in AAA.
