Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
Just had a game go 26 innings. Final tale of the tape between the teams:
193 total at bats
47 total hits
42 total strikeouts
15 pitchers used total
My RTTS player (Zeller) was 3 for 12, and recorded 37 putouts at 1B. Just glad I only do batting...that's a lot of standing around in the field.Comment

Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
Houston needs all the talent it can get. I was traded there once, but I reloaded the file and the Yankees thought better of trading me for a Brett Myers.Comment

Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
This has happened many times when my SP gets the batter to hit a grounder and the infielder makes an error fielding or throwing it my sp gets points deducted. Shouldn't i get points for making the batter hit a ground ball. This is insane.Yankees!!

Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
Just got the game yesterday haven't started a rtts yet but i've downloaded the full minors rosters also. But wondering what I should do. This is my first show since 09 and I've always done pitchers mostly. But any suggestions?Comment

Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
Finally started my RttS. Doing a LF with 1B/3B as my other positions. One thing I've noticed is pitchers in the minor leagues don't throw balls out of the strike zone even with slider adjustments. Otherwise, making some progress.Comment

Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
Thought I'd try a new creative way to make my RTTS player. So, I Just created my first RTTS using weighted randomized race, face and body characteristics, and DNA attributes.
This way I can work build my player but he CAN'T be superman and have perfect attributes across the board. If he plays really well and reaches specific milestones in his first 5-8 years, I will slightly bonus some of the corresponding pre-determined max attributes.
What was cyber birthed was was Terence Greene
Son of former Minnesota Twins center fielder William Greene who played from 1990-2001. Grandson of Billy "Speedy" Greene who played a 20 year career in the 60's and 70's. He comes from good baseball DNA. His max potential for each attributes is already set. But he could go past them if he reaches certain stat milestones. The North Carolina native is 19 year old prospect in the Yankee organization as a 2nd baseman / shortstop. He is a rather wild and loose character who loves to live flashy. He is right hander who bats lefty, but is working on becoming a switch hitter down the line.
Max Potential Attribute- (Current Attribute - Day 1/Year 1)
Contact L - 80 (48)
Contact R - 95 (50)
Power L - 45 (16)
Power R - 35 (16)
Clutch - 85 (31)
Bunt - 90 (29)
Drag - 80 (20)
---------
Vision - 70 (41)
Disc - 95 (44)
Durability - 80 (46)
Speed - 75 (54)
BR Ability - 75 (29)
BR Aggression - 100 (20)
----------
Arm Strength - 95 (31)
Arm Accuracy - 80 (35)
Fielding - 95 (38)
Reaction - 85 (44)

Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
My contract with the Cubs ended and I chose not to accept their one year offer because I want to leave, there is no option to reject it actively and I simmed a bit more of the the off season and a message popped up saying they'd signed me to a one year deal. I've reloaded and tried to look around the menus and my career progression says contract ended with Cubs 2012.
How do I proceed without a repeat of what happened last time? I've always found this part of RTTS clunky and frustrating.Comment

Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
I'm right be wrong on this, but in real life you don't become a free agent after just one season in the minors. If you don't sign the contract with your current or negotiate with them then they have the right to automatically renew your contract for the amount they decide. Check the transaction handbook and it explains most of the rules regarding free agency.
Good name btw.Comment

Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
Just started a new RTTS. 5'11" 180lbs, 21 yr old, SP drafted by Miami. One start into my AA season, went 6 innings gave up 2 runs with 4 K's, and got a no decision. Not bad for my first career start. My 3 pitches are a 4 Seam FB, Palm Ball, 12-6 CB... I miss hitting homeruns though. I may start an OF RTTS.Comment

Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
Pitched a complete game shutout with Randy Johnson against Houston this morning. Currently 8-1 and listed 1st in Cy Young rankings, though not sure why. Halladay has an 8-2 record, more complete games, more strikeouts, more innings pitched, a lower WHIP, and a lower ERA. But I'll take it. I should be a lock for the all-star game and should get a very nice pay raise when my contract is up at the end of the season as I'm at like $500,000 right now. I don't mind playing for St. Louis, but I think I want to go back to the AL so I may sign another short-term deal. Cards are in 1st though so almost a lock for the playoffs if they keep playing the way they are. Carpenter and I are at the top of most pitching categories and the offense is top 5-10 in every category.Comment

Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
Just got the game yesterday so I started my SP RTTS.
First game I pitched 6.1 IP, 1 unearned run, 6K. Second game I pitched a complete game shutout with 11 K. Third game I got roughed up pretty good. Only managed 5.1 IP and gave up 11 hits and 4 runs.
And then I accidentally simmed one start so my ERA went up from like 1.7 to 3.4.
Mini rant: Outfielders in AA ball are so hilariously bad, lol!Comment

Re: MLB 12 The Show: Road to the Show Thread
Started a RTTS CF called up as a starter my 3rd year won ROTY and MVP as a rookie almost had the triple crown. Started second season on bench??? Decided I wanted off the Mets so I through a year.
As expected my attributes bombed, but i still managed a .306 BA.
Was released by Mets and tried out for the Astros (FAN). Made the AAA roster as a bench player and was rated the 4th best CF on the roster.
They are particularly thin at 3B so I tried changing positions to no avail. Despite the fact that they are incredibly deep at CF and thin at 3B they wont let me change?!?!?
Anybody got any ideas?Comment
