Started off using Catcher Offset but switched to Offset.

Default gets the edge over catcher classic for me, helps me time pitches better.

I have been using the Classic catcher but will do some testing. I am all about realism so I will post if I come up with anything guys.

Not sure if this helps but,

Baseball is dependent on precise measurements. The distance between each base is exactly 90 feet. Another precise measurement is the distance from the pitching rubber that sits atop the pitching mound to home plate. A pitcher's ability is determined by how well he throws the ball once he gets to the mound and not how well he throws from other spots.

          Distance

In Major League Baseball, the distance from the pitching rubber -- situated on top of the pitching mound -- is 60 feet 6 inches from home plate. The measurement is made from the front edge of the pitching rubber to the back point of home plate. This distance is used for all levels of senior baseball, which includes, high school, college, professional baseball and international competition. Once players reach age 16, this standard distance is used on all baseball fields.

Previous Distances

In the earliest days of professional baseball, the pitching mound was 45 feet from home plate. That measurement was recorded in 1858, and baseball continued to use that distance until 1881 when the mound was moved to 50 feet. In 1893, the distance was moved to the current 60 feet 6 inches. Legend has it that the distance was supposed to be 60 feet, but the groundskeeper misread the number and added an extra 6 inches.

Is there an option for custom camera adjustments with the Vita?

Custom camera offset to the inside, but I'm getting dominated this year so far, even with the same "dumbed down" settings/sliders I used last year. I may have to drop to a lower difficulty level.

Question for all of you. With the camera you are using, can you see the spin of the ball (to determine whether a ball is off speed or not)? I could have sworn the first day I had the game using default I could read the spin, but now I just can't. Can anyone else?

Re: What hitting view are you using?

I was having a hard time hitting this year in both the ps3 and vita versions and decided to mess with the camera views. I tried almost all of them and even custom cams but nothing really helped. I then tried offset and zone hitting and I started to make great contact and was crushing the ball.

I went into batting practice and tried this out and I was able to get 15/20 successes for timing and made 11/20 for contact. I was on all star all default. I also tried this view on the vita and hit 2 hrs and beat the angels 4 -1 in an exhibition game. My strikeouts have also decreased. The one thing I need to work on is being more patient and to lay off the high pitches. I'm going to try this view I'm my test franchise with the Rockes.

I like the default Catcher cam, but I love Catcher Classic.

(its a little dark) But thats the view i use. Gives good high and low cov, and makes the lefty right battles matter a little more because of the angle.

I have tried other cameras, even custom ones, but I just come back to default Catcher every time. It's simply a really good camera angle.

I'm an offset cam lover. So sad Offset 5 is gone this year. Or most offset views for that matter. I like how offset introduces platoon differences in pitch recognition.
