Re: What hitting option are you using?
I find my problem with hitting (zone) is that I am pressing the swing button and the left analog stick (in the direction of the ball) at the same time.
The game mechanics really do not allow for this. You have to have your PCI in the correct location before you press X to swing. The result for me is good timing with poor contact quite often. I often have a ball up or down in the zone that I recognize and time correctly. However I am one millisecond off from pushing the analog stick in the corresponding direction.
The result is that my PCI is almost always just dead center in the zone. I really wish that zone would allow for a little larger window for moving the PCI, even DURING the swing.
I don't try to move the PCI around mid-pitch. That's asking for trouble imo.Comment

Re: What hitting option are you using?
IF that's the case then timing is the best thing to use. I like to be able to swing high or low, inside or outside. But my PCI pretty much stays centered because I'm hitting X and moving the analog stick almost at the same time. I may try pure analog.Comment

Re: What hitting option are you using?
Wow...way more people saying timing than I would have thought. I have some of the same problems with zone. Too hard to move at the last second...or too hard to finesse. I end up pushing the stick all the way outside....but that's puts the pci waaay outside, and the ball is just on the corner of the plate.
I always thought timing would be like cheating...but sounds like I need to give it a try.PSN: nathan118Comment

Re: What hitting option are you using?
zone analogue for me. i like being able to actually make my player stride and swing, without hitting a button. to me it feels more realistic and like im more involved.NFL

Timing. I used to use zone in 2009. I switched to timing in 2011. Love it. Ratings based is my thing. Now Playing on PS5:

Re: What hitting option are you using?
Gave zone+analog a chance but it's just to much for me all toghther to get a grasp of. Zone is OK and like the different kinds of hits im getting when I di hit the ball. But to stay competitive with the computer, I think I am going to go with timing."I wanna walk down the street and people say," "There goes Roy Hobbs, the best to ever play the game."Comment

Zone plus analog because I'm a control freak.

Re: What hitting option are you using?
I'm very surprised about two things.
1) How few people use analog
AND
2) How many people use timing.Comment
