    - Press the SOURCE button on the remote control and scroll to the HDMI/DVI source

    - Press the TOOLS button to display the Edit Name and Information menu

    - Choose DVI PC as the name

Notice that in this mode, several picture settings will be disabled.

Have issues catching up with the fastball. I have a 50" samsung plasma and graphic are top notch but it seems the fast ball is incredible hard to hit. Does this belong here or am I tripping?

Re: This game absolutely, 100% *needs* a "calibrate lag" feature

I spent some quality time with my game last night in Practice - Batting and finally into a Game. 14 innings no less. I did this on my 42" Vizio 120Mhz LCD in Game Mode. I have my Pitch Speed set at 0, Human Contact and Timing set at 10. That gives me the biggest window I can possibly have. The Move was unhittable. I tried everything I could think of. To drive the ball down the line I literally had to swing the moment the ball left the pitchers hand. That's rediculous. Using the controller though it was more forgiving. I had a split second to decide. I guess it more or less felt like it should if I were a real player but it was hard non the less.

Now to the point of the post. I have the good fortune of having a 2nd PS3 and TV combo and this morning I fired it up. It is hooked to a 26" Vizio LCD with 60Mhz refresh. What a difference. I could actually sit back and swing much later and still drive the ball down the line. It felt like I could wait up to 2 to 3 times longer before swinging (via controller) than I could on my big TV.

Bottom line, TV's are different and it would appear that some just can't be compensated for their delay enough. Tonight I'll give it a go with the Move and hopefully a game to confirm that I need to stick to my 26" to play this game since apparently has less of a delay.

Oh, one interesting thing that may or may not be a factor now that I think about it. I either force my 26" TV to 720p or my PS3 to not do 1080p. I can't remember which but I AM in 720p on the 26" TV. I'll have to see if forcing my 42" TV to 720p makes any difference since I'm pretty sure I'm doing 1080p through the PS3. Crossing my fingers cause I'd really like to play on the bigger set sometimes.

Re: This game absolutely, 100% *needs* a "calibrate lag" feature

I have a 40" Samsung LCD (ln40b550) and have been playing The Show for the past three seasons. I've always enjoyed it, but have consistently felt that hitting was inherently too difficult regardless of mode, difficulty setting, or pitch speed. And I'm patient and well-versed in video games, so neither are the issue.

Two days ago I tried pulse pitching for the first time and found the timing for it just felt completely out of whack. I'd heard of TV lag before and Game Mode. Game Mode never made any difference at all when I've tried it.

Last night I switched my PS3 over to PC mode via HDMI precisely as described in this thread. IMMEDIATE and OBVIOUS improvement in my abilities to hit and time the circle for pulse pitching. Seriously, it's like night and day. I used to have to swing almost immediately following the pitcher's release to pull a ball. Now I actually have time to see the pitch and react. Now I under the adulation for this game completely. Anyone who can do so should try this. Be aware that Game Mode did nothing to help, but switching to PC input was the ticket.

I made the switch on my Samsung LED as described here and now two issues have come up. Does anyone else see a black border/frame around the screen? Also, I have no audio now at all.

You can get rid of the black borders around the picture by going to the Audio/Video section of the game options in The Show.

Either go into the tv menu and change your sounds settings to external speaker and use your sound system or select tv speaker. Also you may wanna check the ps3 audio output settings and adjust them to hdmi or optical accordingly.

It drove me bonkers when I first bought the TV but then, with a little research I was able to find the above solution. Hope it helps some people & hey, it might work on other TVs too.
Is this the only setting on the Vizio you've changed? Just "Game Mode"?

If you've had to tinker further, could you either post here or PM me your settings?

Hustlinowl has/had a Vizio too. He seemed quite sure in his settings and never mention this issue. Hustlin, care to chime in?

Guys, this is an issue. Those of you with LCD tv's that have never played on a Plasma might not have noticed this. I just bought a Plasma and can notice a huge difference. This is not a game issue, it's your TV.

Thanks, but still no luck. I have the TV set to TV Speaker and the ps3 audio output settings are on HDMI as they should be as well. Sound works fine if I am not in the this PC DVI mode.

The graphics look alot worse in this mode as well. Better than game mode, but still not as good as normal.

The lag doesn't bother me as much with Pulse Pitching now. Ive started to just hit the button when the circle is at its largest and it ends up registering when the circle gets small again. Obviously that is the opposite of how its suppsed to work, but it does actually work out just fine. Hitting is another story though, still late on everything.

I see some others with Vizio saying you have to reset 'Game Mode', and this is what I was going to say as well. That is what I have to do with my Vizio, and it fixes all lag issue. I suggest turning yours off and back on each time you use your tv, maybe it'll help.

If indeed there is a true delay in LCD's causing this, then yes it is the TV causing it but it also a game issue. The Developers need to account for this technological barrier like Rock Band and Guitar Hero do. We shouldn't all have to go out and buy a specific TV that is low on latency to play the game. This is a Playstation and as such it will be hooked to a variety of normal televisions. It's not like we're trying to enter the Indy 500 in our Ford Fiesta and asking them to slow everyone down so we can compete.

Exactly, thank you. The point of me creating this thread has been proven, this game has been made in a way where the timing is VERY precise and if you have a TV that doesn't have either 1) Very little input lag to begin with, or 2) A certain TV that has a certain setting that PROPERLY compensates for it, then you're going to have issues with hitting. I have a "Game Mode" on my TV......and it does absolutely nothing.

And it's not like it's a relatively small, hard to notice issue, it's very clear and obvious that it heavily effects how you can perform. Those people who are saying to use the "PC Input Mode" of your TV, I have no doubt that solution works because when I go hook up my PS3 to an actual PC Monitor, that's the huge, massive difference that I witness. But the problem is that my TV doesn't HAVE that mode, and it's not like I'm using some kind of off-brand, old TV. I have a Sony Bravia 240hz 46" LCD that's still within a few years of its release, and I do not have that setting. And the input lag on my TV, when playing THIS GAME, is brutal. I hate to bring it up but the fact is that I've also played MLB 2K12 on this TV, and I do NOT have this problem. So there's something going on with this particular game that effects how much you suck in regards to your input lag.

It's an issue with this game.....it just is. And I also think it's something that will never be addressed, and we'll all just have to live with it. I've just accepted the fact that I need to slow the pitch speed down and play enough games to where I get used to compensating for the input lag in relation to that pitch speed. That's life, I guess.

I run the game at 1080P but The Show clearly states when you first launch it that it has been optimized for 720P. Could the resolution be an issue? Odds are the 24 inch LCD is running at 720P.

Try setting your PS3 to 720P and see what happens.

I've tried it, no change. I didn't change the settings at all between the 46" TV and smaller monitor while testing. And the monitor is a 1080p. Believe me I've tried every single possible setting on my TV and nothing effects it.
