I own Sony bravia XBR - 52HX909. This thing isnt an issue for me either. I set it to game mode, although it feels the same regardless of what mode i play in. The TV was expensive, but i love it. Im early or late on fastballs, on breaking pitches depending on if im sitting on them or not, same thing, out in front or nustvlate.

If you are an online only player two things are a must. Under networs setting make.aure "media server connection" is disabled, and second, the PS3 NEEDS to be hardwired, specifically for MLB.

Sonys XBT TV's are their top of the line, but the picture quality and 240hz is amazing.

Seriously though, input lag is most prominent in Samsungs. Plasmas are very minimal and any tv with game mode helps. SCEA won't put a feature in that's going to cut swing animations or clip the motions.

Don't quote me on how lag calibration works, but I always thought it was a little something like this:

A television with lag has trouble displaying the video of what is going on in the console's computer cycles. Think of it like being far away from a lightning strike... although you see it early on, there's lag time when you "hear" the strike, or the thunder in this case.

I thought that calibrating would, in essence, allow for the lightning strike to be on a "video" delay with the thunder's amount of lag so that you both see and hear them at the same time. As far as a video game is concerned then, it would "wait" on all inputs into the computer of the console to arrive at the same time that the video arrives on the screen.

This way, when a pitch comes in, instead of the game already registering that the pitch has gone by the batter though we don't see it yet on screen, the game would "wait" a little bit so that its inputs match the video. In essence, nothing is lost, clipped, or sped up.

Might that be how it works?

I don't see why there couldn't be a Calibration feature under options where you could press a button when you see a ball reach a certain point( kind of how music games to do it) and than the pitch speed or some kind of ball delay is incorporated based off the results.

I do hope there will be some sort of lag calibration making it in in future, but it's not in for this year.

The TVs we used in the offices while we tested the game there are nondescript... various sizes, large Sony Bravisa's, small PC monitor type LCDs, etc. I was almost exclusively on 24" LCD, and I felt no lag....

The dev team is definitely aware of the issue though.

I use a Samsung 52 inch LCD

Hdmi hookup 720.

Haven't experienced any kind of lag at all.

The game play is crisp also set it to game mode and just brighten the screen up a bit. When I switch from normal tv mode to game mode it goes from very bright to very dim and low.

I would just recommend playing around with the settings to be honest.

Just fixed the HDMI port on my PS3 and hooked it up to my Samsung 40" 1080p, 60Hz TV. There is an insane amount of lag, even on the game mode. I hooked it up to my computer monitor and can hit a world better. Wish I could play on my TV though...

No matter what you guys say, I am not buying a Plasma TV. I'd rather bat worse with an LCD than be poorer with a Plasma.

I don't know what you mean by cheaper. Panasonic Plasma TVs are certainly not cheap. Anyway, I don't need a TV that reflects light like Plasmas do. My LCD has a matte screen and I love it!

Read up on Panasonic plasma TVs....there are plenty of mistakes in those statements.

Like Nomo said, the Devs are aware of how input lag impacts some of its buyers.

For various reasons, lag calibration could not get in this year but I wouldn't necessarily say "never" on this happening in the future either.

42" inch Panasonic TVs are not expensive. How much is a 55" Panasonic Plasma TV? I saw one for $2000. I still love my LCD matte screen TV.
