Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Almost in June. Yup, the Astros are out of it. Carlos Lee is a good idea. Iam four games out of 1st place. I really like Ortiz b/c he has some pop left in his bat. I was just wondering what it would take to get him. Realistically of course. ThanksGreen Bay Packers

Don't know them all by name but the package would have to be one of the top rated potential SP's (i.e. Bradley or Thornburg) plus something else of high value on the prospect side.Former modder of "Ultimate Rosters" for MVP Baseball 2005.

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I've had a little smirk on my face all morning thanks to you guys. Jorge De La Rosa is now officially a New York Yankee. With his glorious hot symbol, stuttery delivery and all.
It took a tad more than I had expected to make this happen. Once again, COL trade interest bar filled up completely when I offered the deal Nofatgirlz recommended.
COL gets: 18 yr. old SS (B), 21 yr. old SP (B)
NYY gets: De La Rosa (B)
But they still wouldn't take the deal. Ugh!!!!!!!!!!!!
So I spent the next half hour adjusting combinations. I ultimately ONLY had two choices.
Add Eduardo Nunez (My starting SS, replacing an injured Jeter; C potential), to the deal, or...
Keep Nunez in the deal, the B SS, and add a C pitcher. Um...what?
COL would either take: B, B, C *or* B, C, C
So let me get this straight. You'd rather take a B and 2 C's over a package of 2 B's???? Alright bro, whatever floats your boat.
So I had to play "Mr. Fairness," and kind of screw myself. I forced my own hand at my own free will and gave them B, B, C (the two B prospects AND my starting SS in Nunez).
But I figured it was worth it, considering Pineda got smacked around AGAIN last night and since De La Rosa is having a MONSTER year (mid 3.00's, top 10 in K's, hot symbol, etc).
So Hughes goes to the pen, and my rotation looks like so:
Sabathia
Kuroda
De La Rosa
Pineda
Nova

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
@ heroesandvillains: i woulda made Colorado suffer and have them accept the the B and 2 C's which woulda been fair as well if they didnt take the 2 B's..u were indeed being a tad generous but as long as DeLaRosa keeps it up, it can be looked at as a successSteelers | Seminoles | A's | Rockets | Avalanche | Wildcats, Hoosiers | LiverpoolComment

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
I was literally staring at the (left column) De La Rosa and (right column) B, B, C like a freaking zombie.
I kept saying to myself, "no, B, C, C is more than fair!"
But I was trying to pretend I was COL's GM too. And I kept going back to these factors:
1. Monster year
2. Hot symbol
3. June 12th (meaning they probably would rather wait to test the trading market unless they were definitively blown away)
4. One B is NOT fair....or is it?
Had anyone of those factors been different, it would have gone down differently. If I was COL, under the circumstances, B+C+C would not be enough or I'd at least try to milk it. And I didn't want to feel like I cheated the system (which can happen all too easily).
Man, I love this game! It's crazy. You should have seen me sweating last night. No other form of entertainment does this to me! LOL!

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
2 C's and a B woulda been more then fair for a guy whose middle name is inconsistency....Colorado was smart for jumping on your offer cause they wasnt gunna get *blown away* with anything better....but like u, i dont mind letting the CPU *win* the trade on paper once in a while since after all, they are prospects, and u dont know how they gunna pan out
I project him to be MLB ready after 2 offseasons. By then, my rotation should look like:
Sabathia (though old)
Banuelos
Pineda
Betances
Nova
Then, I'll probably need a veteran anyway to help solidify and balance out the inexperience. I really saw no future for Feliciano in pinstripes. Being the Yankees, I should have no problem signing a stud.
That, and I'm scouting SP's almost 3:1 over position players.
Still, it was a very difficult decision.Comment

Re: 2012 The Show Official Trade Discussion Thread
Ultimately, it came down to Roger Feliciano (the generated 21 year old B SP).

I know he has control issues, but that hasn't kept the websites I skimmed through last year keeping him off the list? Did something change (I haven't checked on him since last season).Comment
