Yes, those are prefect examples since AC is essentially eating Tulo's contract just like the Yankees did with A-Rod and the Dodgers did with A-Gon, Beckett, and Crawford. The Red Sox received a first baseman with no power, two high B's, a low B, and a high C in return for three former superstars and a utility player.

Excellent, I've been meaning to try out a new way of evaluating pitchers.

I'm going to automatically assume the Mets are sucking- duh- and ask for some stats. What is his ERA, his WHIP, his AVG, his SO/RISP, his DIPS, and his BIPA? His DIPS and BIPA can be found on the 'advanced stats' page. The rest are on the "20__ MLB Stats" Page.

Just checking, are you considering Allan Webster a high B, or Jerry Sands? Because neither are real high B's IMO, more like mid-high B's. I see Webster like a Hutchison type- not an ace ceiling or anything, but he's just about MLB ready, and has talent.

d'Arnaud, Hech, B RP prospect?, Sierra?

The reason why that player isn't CarGo or Pomeranz (I think) is because Tulo is the homegrown player and the Rockies have always prided themselves off that. The Rockies signed Tulo to a 10 year deal, I believe CarGo was a 6 or 7? so that makes me think that Tulo is main guy in Colorado.

d'Arnaud, Abreu (think Ryan Howard) OR Cozart, Hutchison.

d'Arnaud, Abreu, Cozart, Sierra... Is Sierra the C OF? I think throwing him in would help a lot because you said they were a little bare in the OF.

Sierra is a high C that I could throw in.

I'm thinking... d'Arnaud, Cozart, Hutchison, Sierra.

Cozart is a fringy A, by the way.

I see Webster as a B+, he has ridiculous stuff (94-98 MPH fastball w/ sink) and age is on his side. If starting doesn't work out then he becomes an electric late inning guy a la Venters. Sands is a B- IMO.

                          That's pretty agreeable. I love Webster's sinker.

My point of bringing that up, is that they play in Coors Field which could totally destroy any pitcher, let alone a prospect. So they aren't going to trade their franchise player that they just signed to a 10 year contract for some prospects that MIGHT work out. They are going to go for more of a sure thing. That is why it would take a lot to pry Tulo away. They just signed him to a major contract because they want to keep him, not dump him off after 2 or 3 seasons.
Honestly even if a club has 8 A potential pitching prospects they will take more pitching prospects.. You never and I mean never have enough pitching in the Major Leagues.

Oh boy... The point of this post was to say that they aren't going to trade away Tulo for players that aren't a sure thing. They can't and won't take that risk.

I did not mean that Alex White and Drew Pomeranz were so good that they didn't need more A pitching prospects.
