I play with the guess pitch on! Always on the first pitch of the AB, I guess fastball. If I guess it right I take a hack at it and if I guess wrong I just take the pitch. The CPU usually readjust to what I am doing because they start throwing me the off speed stuff after the 6th or 7th batter..

Wow...thanks for this...never realized PCI changes based on count. Gotta use this to my advantage. No Guess Pitch for me.
The way I figure it is if I want to guess pitch, then I guess fastball and gear up for it, and put a swing on it.
Having a red light flash to tell me I guessed right seems like cheating to me. Especially when I figure I am in a fastball count, and the pitcher drops a gnarly curveball on me. I love saying to myself, "That was just nasty", as I flail at the ball, or get locked up. That never happens when the game tells you which pitch is or is not coming.
I always take a pitch for a strike. This helps me get some 4 pitch walks, and also helps me make the pitcher work harder over the course of the game.
The other thing folks may not realize, is that the game does a great job making you a better 2-1 hitter, by increasing the PCI size based on a hitter's count, and shrinking it when the pitcher has the advantage. Ever notice that when you swing and miss with a Contact swing on a 3-1 pr a 2-1 pitch, the PCI almost covers the entire strike zone? Now notice what that PCI looks like when you hack away at an 0-2 pitch with the same Contact swing.
Getting your batters into a hitting count, by taking pitches and forcing the pitcher to find the strike zone will immediately pay dividends at the plate.
Use that to your advantage, make the pitcher make high-pressure pitches, and get that number 1 out of the game.
Getting to the bullpen early can start the Merry-Go-Round, and lead to big innings.
