Fenway Park does just fine without yellow lines. They have a few to designate fair/foul, but there is no wall top border like other ballparks have.

I thought it felt a lot like Miller Park too.

I thought the center field fence was weird too. I guess it was suppose to be in honor of the triangle at the old stadium. Also I was kinda surprised with how high the walls get down the LF and RF walls.

Well, they do have the yellow lines for contrast on the center field walls to show what part is out of play, and which part is in play. From the picture posted, it doesn't look like there will be much contrast out in right field and from the people in left.

I adore that monstrosity in left center.

All I can say about the New Marlins Park. It looks better than the Rays stadium. It does have that amusement park theme to it. In real life they probably will win another World Series soon.. LOL...

Re: Not impressed w/Marlins new Park

Just wanted to point this out because it doesn't look like anyone in this thread has actually been to Marlins Park itself but I have. I'm a season ticket holder and have been there numerous times including for an exhibition game.

In The Show, the stadium is well done with a few minor details missing. Strangely though, the game gives a bit of a bland, dull tone throughout the ballpark. I'm not exactly sure why but its just a weird vibe I get from the game. Yet in reality the ballpark is fresh, sleek, vibrant, bright and colorful.

I just had to defend the reality of it. Its a beautiful yet unorthodox ballpark in a good way. I myself love it in person.

Re: Not impressed w/Marlins new Park

One thing I noticed yesterday is there are no distance markers on the outfield wall.

I'm sure next year the dull monotony of the park will be improved. They will probably spice it up with some little touches here and there, like they did with NYS, Citi and Target.

Probably really hard to create a stadium that wasn't totally finished when the game was made.

I agree. It's eerily similar to Miller with a taste of Minute Maid in Houston.
It's really disappointing, this will be the last new ballpark to be made for a while, and it looks like a bland copy of other mediocre stadiums.

have people not realized that the best ballparks are open, creative, and/or have great views (SBC, PNC, Oriole Park, Wrigley)???
I'm saddened by Nationals Park, Marlins Park, Citi Field, Busch Stadium II, Miller Park, and to some extent Comerica and Safeco. They all had the potential to create something truly unique and fantastic, but they didn't.
                            Convention, you've done it again.

I like Miller, Comerica, and Citi. Wrigley is just too damn old. It needs at least and update like New Yankee did or something.

To be fair to Marlins Stadium, you can see the city skyline in the outfield (you just really can't see it in game). There is only so much you can do with retractable roof stadiums, and while I hate these roofed stadiums it must be noted that Miami fans have suffered because of constant rainouts and bad weather. Places like Miami, Tampa and Houston need these roofs to keep the humidity out.
