The Yankees also play at one of the most hitter friendly ballparks in the game and have much more power than the Reds do.

(I know GABP is hitter friendly also.)

i was getting a bit frustrated myself, but these last 2 days have been great! finally won my first online game today and won a few thrillers vs the cpu. i average about 8-10 hits a game. just keep adjusting sliders and maybe go down to rookie. remember, hitting well with timing takes patients because it relies on players batting stats, hot zones, pitch location, etc.

try these sliders out man http://www.operationsports.com/forum...lider-set.html

P.S. turn fielder speed down to 2. more hits will land without being caught because slow fielders will be slow. trust me and the game still plays perfect and feels realistic!

While it does get frustrating when you go through long slumps, I do appreciate that it is a part of the game. I like my averages and stats being very realistic. And I'm sure over 162 games, everything will even out.

I'm in game six of my season w/ the Giants, and I have just 1 HR - w/ Brandon Belt of all people. But I'm not giving up hope, as I attribute 50% of the problem on myself not hitting the ball well.

BTW - I've noticed this game, more than its previous versions, is very tough to play while drinking more than a few and/or trying to keep track of a hyper dog. Focus is essential!

Get better and eyeing the pitches. It always takes me a bit when a new MLB The Show comes out to get adjusted to hitting again.

The Yankees/Texas and Boston were the only teams that hit more than 200 the rest went from 91 home runs to 191 so in saying that you are hitting a lot like the Padres...In saying that every team hit from 237 to 352 doubles and from 1,263 to 1,600 singles so baseball isn't all about hitting home runs when you really sit back and look at the numbers...it's just that's all they show on espn.

I mash the ball on all-star but like the OP said, line drives keep going right at guys. Very frusterating. I was playing Detroit last night against Porcello. Through 5 innings I had 5 walks, 5 hits, 7 or so lineouts and 4 smashed double plays. All equaled 0 runs. Major BS.

              Still cant stop playing !

Smoak and Montero both have 7 HR through 29 games and Ackley has 4. Overall, I have 27 HR as a team and that is about right.

Don't know what to tell you... I think the hitting is fine. Maybe you need to play on rookie for a bit and up the power slider? If you're getting more realistic results that way, it can't hurt and will leave you less frustrated.
hold up...the game came out on the 6th and you already played 29 games?...have u seen the sun lately?

Seems like it's pretty much a consensus that hitting is too difficult for MOST of us. I'm hopeful sliders and or a patch will fix the problem. Funny, last year I had the exact opposite problem. I was hitting to much. Oh well, I'm sure it'll even out sooner or later.

I agree with you 100 percent. I am super frustrated with this game and I have been a long time fan of 5 years.

My typical hits are hard line drives right to an infielder most of the time. Or hit off the pitcher to be recovered quickly and then thrown out. I have only hit about 2 home runs total after about 10 games.

When I do manage to get a one score lead, the computer always seems to manage to come back and tie. The game goes into overtime where ultimately they win. I have only won one game since I have had it.

Tried all different types of slider sets and adjusted the difficulty up/down to no avail. Never had a problem with any of the other versions. I like a challenge, but what the hell... I don't wanna break a controller out of frustration!

I know how you feel man, I think MLB 08 was exactly like this where most of your runs would come by hits instead of home runs. All I can say try using Zone hitting and you'll get better bonuses (IMO) including home runs.
Why did I move here? I guess it was the weather.

Re: Flame me if you want but...

I've had each game since 08. I've mostly done RTTS in MLB12. Something is definitively different. Especially if you're going back and forth between PS3 and Vita (Vita being more difficult). I've had slumps but have never complained. I get it, they have something built in the game so people don't bat .900. Fine.

At first everything was normal, hit .360 in AA (All-Star) and was loving it as I have in the past games. Then I got into AAA, and the game has betrayed me. Not sure what happened but I did not change the way I do things. Going 10 for 100 is not cute or fun. Ball contact became nearly impossible, a lot of strike outs (not chasing). When contact is made, it's an out.

The outfield plays like a little league field. I recall in past versions a lot of people talking about the lack of hits in the gap. Well, that's the only way to get it a hit it seems now. The fielders get everything (speed/reaction turned all the way down). Line drive to the warning track...out. Drive down the line, out. HIT through the infield, barely make it to first. HIT down the line, thrown out by 4 steps at 2nd.

Something has changed this year but I will try to get through it. On the plus side, I have managed to create some awesome profanity combinations that alleviate the stress.

The ratings for your player suck. That's the problem.

Not really. It happens in the other modes, was just using RTTS since I played it the most.

I agree with everyone here....I always use the All Star Settings with some minor fixes in the sliders, i must say sometimes( well must of the times so far..) it can get frustrating to hit, Specially with men in scoring position...I really think that the major things this year that are affecting US Human Hitters are these:

                              1. the CPU Pitcher Pace is way too quick this year, and u barely have time between pitches to adjust your game plan...

                              2. this is a biggie here...can someone remind the home plate umpires that they are supposed to be neutral....i mean i know that the bad calls can go either way in baseball, but man i keep getting bad strike calls almost in all my at bats ( I'm talking about fastballs and offspeed pitches that almost hit the ground)....but when i pitch i also get robbed of good a** strikes on the corners.....

One thing that has helped me is lowering the camera angle from catcher to as low as it can go. My issue was picking up low pitches, I did that, and I feel as if I see the ball better and with that, I'm hitting the ball better.
