Re: Flame me if you want but...

for me i had issues, where previously i always had success in years past. but i was being stubborn and really liked analog, but as been said before and in this thread you have to take pitches. and with the stick im just a tad bit slower (getting old and all) vs the button and i need that extra few ms to determine whether to swing or not.

this gets me into better counts, once im in better counts im more relaxed, if im more relaxed my reflexes are faster. it's just a cascading effect.

i literally could not hit the ball on sunday all day. i was way frustrated, tried tons of camera angles, hitting options and was playing even on rookie and I just couldn't do anything.

today, first game on all star with timing...back to back home runs. having overall my best game including 3 walks. the cpu has thrown more pitches than me

now it feels like in years past, other than moving up to zone. i guess i will have to admit that i can't do analog. oh well.

Update on my initial post, played 2 more games last nite and scored 3 runs the first game then finally broke out in 2nd game.I scored 8 runs on 11 hits and had 2 walks and 5 strikeouts. I also hit 2 HR's finally. I used TNK sliders with a couple of minor adjustments. I def needed that game, you can only take so much even if it is just a video game, lol. Thanks for everyones help. The game is awesome. No other game drives me to compete like this one does. A little success goes along way.

I play and work on this game for 12 months straight and can only muster a .240 to .265 avg. Hitting a round ball with a round bat is the hardest thing to do in sports. The franchise is meant to reflect this.

The median hits per game last year was between 8.56 and 8.76 a game.
Nice stats to throw in there.

We want our sports games to be a true simulation of the sport, and we have it. I see nothing wrong with the hitting in this game.

The only time I was struggling in this game was when I was playing on the wrong TV set. Other than that I have always felt I was getting what I deserved in this game, and loved the game for it.

Smoak and Montero both have 7 HR through 29 games and Ackley has 4. Overall, I have 27 HR as a team and that is about right.

Don't know what to tell you... I think the hitting is fine. Maybe you need to play on rookie for a bit and up the power slider? If you're getting more realistic results that way, it can't hurt and will leave you less frustrated.
Yes, that works for me but I don't up the power slider. I have all my sliders at default, and I play with the Dodgers. In addition, I have pitch speed at zero.

I can rarely hit a hr in rtts mode. I have almost. 500 av with like 2 hr threw almost a while season lol I dont get it either when I picked my guy I put power all the way up an still started out with better contact an a horrible power rating I think it's pointless to put power/contact/speed/strength up it doesn't make a difference

I have been playing this series for 5 yrs now. I play on veteran with the red sox. I have upped my timing all the way up, contact up 1, cpu pitching down almost all the way, lowered the pitch speed all the way. Still horrible. Oh I am getting hits, about 8-10 /game. A walk or two /game as well. I have a good batters eye, striking out around 7-8 times /game. Strike to ball ratio is around 60/40%.I am thumping the ball hard, line drives, a ton of them, usually right at somebody. I just finished up the 5th game today with Boston and no HR's at all even though I am wacking the hell out of the ball. I don't know what else to do but it shouldnt be this freaking hard to score runs.In those 5 games I have scored a total of 1 run in each game. Any help would be appreciated.I have tried everything.I am patient at the plate taking alot of pitches.I am hitting the ball fine, but not a homer in 5 games , come on. Ok Im done with the rant.
Spend some more time in the cages and less time whining then!
