Re: 1st MLB 12 The Show Patch
Tbh, the issues mentioned are the things I want fixed in the interim - game freezing on dropped pitch while stealing, players morphing into position to get the ball, balls hitting the foul poll but being called foul balls instead of homeruns, etc. I would really, really love for next years game from to finally implement better stats (i.e. RISP w/2 out, former teams, etc.), more records to break (honestly, who will break the most wins in a season or career by a pitcher?), issues with awards like the silver slugger award, etc. I guess that's more of a "wishlist" type thing but yea...est 1978

Yeah the Sliver Slugger one is a huge downer hat's been around as long as I've been playing the show.Originally posted by Anthony BourdainThe celebrity chef culture is a remarkable and admittedly annoying phenomenon. Re: 1st MLB 12 The Show Patch
I scooped this game up, but I wont even unwrap it until the first patch. I want to jump right into it without any issues right away and the start times is huge for me.Comment

And still no word on a patch for a schedule fix. Ugh.Comment

Very frustrating. I know they're working hard on it, but no word on an ETA (like previous years) makes you wonder how big the descrepancies and issues really are. We all want to be able to roll by opening day (US) and I have faith it will be worth the wait. I'm still enjoying the game while testing my patience.

Re: 1st MLB 12 The Show Patch
I was expecting to hear something this week. Either the actual patch itself being released or information on when and what the patch consists of being released. I really hope this information comes out in the next few days. I felt like in previous years, SCEA was very good on communicating with the gamers these details and this year has been a little different.Ohio State - Reds - Bengals - Blackhawks - BullsComment

Re: 1st MLB 12 The Show Patch
The more I think about it, the more it bothers me. I wish this wasn't the case and I fell very confident that SCEA will patch this. However, if it is not fixed, I think I'll forgo my dynasty. That's how big of a deal this is for me. If I was any other team than the Cubs, I could probably deal with it. But night games throughout the week at Wrigley Field and day game on the weekends? No thanks.Comment

Re: 1st MLB 12 The Show Patch
The thing is, it seems that there are a lot more bugs and issues this year compared to last year and in 10. I think this could be the hold up with everything. I just don't remember there being as many issues last year. Also some of these bugs don't exactly seem like easy fixes. The scheduling one I would say is, because it has happened in previous games. However, some of the other things nagging this game don't seem quite as easy to fix.
TBH though I cannot start a franchise until after the 1st patch. Sadly that probably won't be by Opening Day, but right now there are some things wrong that are preventing me from fully enjoying the game so far. It sucks, but I know that if any Developers will fix a game correctly with a patch, it will be the guys at SCEA. They work their butt off to make a great game each year.NHL-Minnesota Wild

Re: 1st MLB 12 The Show Patch
I obviously don't know any more than anyone else here, but I'm confident a patch to catch some key issues will be released soon enough. It's easy to forget that the game hasn't been out for that long overall and they're also dealing with the Vita release, new physics system, etc...just more to navigate when putting a patch together, I'd imagine. Not to mention that there seems to be a steady stream of bug reports to sort through.
I just think that if it takes a bit more time to gather all the info they can and cover more fixes, it's a benefit overall. I know the schedule issue is important to a lot of us, but imagine if thet rushed to fix that and another, bigger issue was left out in the process. None of that is speaking to the fact of it being bugged/wrong in the first place (what's done is done)...it's only to say that I would personally rather any forthcoming fix be fairly comprehensive.
I'm anxious to get started too BTW (also waiting for patch news before I dive in full on), so I definitely get where people are coming from, but I don't think a lack of news is good or bad. SCEA just doesn't have a habit of making announcements about this stuff until it's pretty much certain. The good news is that when we do hear something, it's pretty likely it won't be long after before we see it.
Hopefully the news is good when we do get word...Comment

Re: 1st MLB 12 The Show Patch
I'm with some of you in waiting to get a patch before diving into my franchise. I do not play with the Cubs, so it shouldn't be that big of a deal, but as a lifelong Texas Rangers fan, and attendant of the past 12 Opening Days in a row, having an "Opening Night" every year I play my Franchise just wouldn't do the game of baseball justice.
Like hot dogs, a cold beer, soft drinks that are too expensive, nachos, programs, autographs, keeping a scorecard, taunting the players you know will take your scrub starter deep but you do it anyway, to Pat Green playing on the soundsystem after a Rangers win....these are all parts of the game that make you fall in love with it....and Opening DAY is just another huge part of that love.Comment

Re: 1st MLB 12 The Show Patch
Regardless, while it's more obvious for the Cubs, there isn't a team in baseball that plays only night games during the week and day games on the weekend.Comment
