Seriously. I was able to make the most unrealistic team all during spring training using the Nationals.

They say every year how they are making tweaks to the trade logic but nothing ever seems to change. Same with the logic in setting the lineups in franchise mode.

I don't know why you're so upset about being able to exploit the trade engine when you have a CAP as your lead off man in the first place.

What I do is impose restrictions on my own trading. All trades must either be one for one trades or, if multiplayer, must include a player on the trading block in the deal, if the player I'm seeking isn't on the block I must offer a player at the same position, and any other players must be at positions the other team has listed.

For example let's say I'm trying to acquire Prince Fielder and he isn't on the trading block. I must include in the trade a player who Detroit does have on the trading block, I must offer a first baseman, and the other players I offer must be at positions Detroit has listed. I also must offer an equal number of players to the number Detroit would be giving up.

If you are interested in making trades more challenging this will do it. It is easier to make trades at or near the trade deadline when teams are either rebuilding or making a playoff push.

I the case of the OP's lineup, if he traded all his young talent for that team I wouldn't want to own that team in 2 or 3 years.

Actually looking at those players, I don't think it would be impossible to acquire most of them with the kind of young talent that the Nationals have.

I am not disputing the fact that the trade logic can be exploited, but really there isn't anybody on that team that struck me as untouchable.

I was thinking the same thing. I came in expecting him to have the best players at each position on his team.

You can quickly assemble that lineup, but your minors are going to be worthless.

They should already be trained. They are prospects. Not like they have never played baseball.

This isn't as unrealistic as you claim it to be. Perhaps because you gave up prospects for them. Also, no pitchers? You probably don't have the pieces for them right now.

Does OP have any emotional attachments to his teams' players? I mean I COULD do that with my beloved Diamondbacks, but unless I have to acquire a new 2nd baseman, Aaron Hill does the job just fine.

This isn't as unrealistic as you claim it to be. Perhaps because you gave up prospects for them. Also, no pitchers? You probably don't have the pieces for them right now.

I pretty much kept my starting rotation intact actually, in exception of Gonzazlez. I also acquired Roy Oswalt.
