This can also be manipulated by who you have before and after him in the lineup, usually more benefiting the person batting before, since they will typically get good pitches to hit. Out of curiosity, who is batting before Bautista? And what do their stats look like so far?
Amen to this. I hit with A-Gon and then Ortiz behind him. The CPU is much more careful this year as far as giving them good stuff to hit, but again, learn to be patient.

The PCI's for the big hitters increases exponentially when the count is in their favor.

So sitting on a 2-0 or a 3-1 fastball can lead to big rewards.

Also, try not to use power Swing with the monster hitters, you do not need to. They have enough power to consistently hit balls out with a contact swing, and 400+ bombs are pretty common with the big boppers, even with Normal Swings.

The penalty for the Power Swing PCI shrinkage is not worth the increase in power from the Normal Swing.

That's the other thing. If you're Jose Bautista, the CPU really has no incentive to pitch to you because the hitter on deck is not even remotely threatening. That is precisely why I put my hottest hitter BEHIND Evan Longoria.

Going into my game just now Bautista was hitting .190 with 2 homeruns and 4 rbis and this was like on May 2nd. But then bang. I just had a game where I went 3-4, 1 double, 2 homeruns, 5 rbi game from Bautista. My other run came courtesy of a Chipper Jones homerun. Oh and both of my homeruns with Bautista came on the first pitch where the pitcher made mistakes.

Bautista has been killing it for me. I just hit the Allstar break and he's hitting .291 with 35 home runs and 79 RBIs.
