For me, this is the big thing (other than just loving baseball at what is probably an unhealthy level). If I'm challenging for a batting title, the home run record, a strikeout or save milestone...I want to be confident that I was the one who achieved it.

For that reason, no matter how badly a game turns--if I start getting blown out, if I just can't hit that day and don't think it's going to change, or if I think I got a raw deal on some CPU shenanigans--I still play through to the end instead of simming the remainder of the game. And, let me tell you, that's tough sometimes at night when I know I need to get to bed and get some sleep, and I'm behind badly and it's only the 4th or 5th inning.

I only did it once, in MVP '05 with the Yankees. Lost to the Red Sox in the ALCS.

Ever since purchasing a PS3 in 2008, I have played every baseball game I owned as a full 162-game season. The past couple years I became loyal to MLB: The Show, and even played all spring training games in addition to the full regular season. Because I want my season/franchise mode to mirror that of actual baseball, I constantly tweak the rosters & lineups to reproduce the results of minor league callups/send downs and injuries. Although I only play the Major league team's schedule (Braves only, LOL). I also dont start my season/franchise till opening day so I can at least know who makes the opening day rosters. This allows me to have an accurate snapshot for each team's roster (as I tweak every team's roster/lineup). In order to keep up with this pace, I have to average 1 game played per day (which is harder than you think). My season normally lasts from April to December. This past season in MLB 11: The Show, I made it to Game 6 of the World Series. I didnt get to play that game till mid-January.

To add on, and this is where my sports gaming nerdiness really surfaces...I made a "media guide" based on my season highlights and statistics (92 pages worth of season statistics, highlights, story lines, game by game results, All star rosters/stats, postseason qualifiers).

As a kid, I rolled dice to play the Cubs entire season in Strat-O-Matic baseball.

Now (age 50), I play full 162-game seasons for the Cubs in The Show. I end up simming about 10-15 games due to vacations, etc., but I play the rest out, day-by-day.

I do not play ahead, until I get to October. Then I get anxious and play ahead!

I use a FamilyandFriends edit of the Cubs. Not the real Cubs ....

In MLB 10 the show i was on on pace to finish a 162 game season with the red sox. i have played every game up untill about a week before the all star break. i started a new franchise with a different team but i somehow managed to overwrite my red sox one. i was so heartbroken i traded the game in the next week cause it lost all its luster. franchise mode still isnt the same after that

Ive finished one 162 season and well on the verge of finishing another. The game was MLB The Show 09 on PSP. It makes it a hell of a lot easier to finish 162 game seasons when youre playing on a portable device and spreading it out over 1-2 years.

Playing -not simming - 90% of the games in manage mode I finished 2013 in the show '11 and then the glitch regarding contracts forced me to abandon the game.

                I probably played/managed around 450 games.

I have never finished a 162 game season on MLB the Show. I did once on High Heat baseball. Which was awesome, Cause I loved being able to print out the stats

I do it every year, it's the only way TO play imo. Simming even 1 game ruins the entire season for me, because I'll always have in the back of my mind that one of those wins wasn't mine. The only time I sim games is when I plan on simming through the end of a season, ie if I want to play a future season instead of 2012.

                      Yep, in that boat too.

Theres no way i can ever sim, doing so means all the stats arent mine, and theres no way my little bit of OCD can ever allow that to happen lol.

Yes, playing all 162 is hard work, and a slog, but so so rewarding as well, win or lose.

I did it a few times but on a very old game, Sports Talk Baseball on the Sega Genesis. Think it came out in 1992. I actually still have, might have to try it out again.

Yes once in MVP 2005 but never completed the playoffs. The football games always get in the way for me completing an 162 game season, Right about the time E3 comes and they talk about NCAA or Madden
is right about time I lose interest on baseball. I am sure the same thing will happen this year as well.

This is my biggest gripe with MLB the Show. They should give us the ability to shorten the season. So where there would normally be a 3 game series with a team, maybe you shorten it to 2 game series for medium length seasons or 1 game series for people who want short seasons. Like how NBA 2k does 82,56,29 game seasons.

I don't like simming games so i play every game, but i've never even come close to finishing a 162 game season in The Show. That is why i skipped the game last year. I currently am just past the All Star break of my first season (granted i haven't played the game in a very long time) so it didn't make sense to buy a new game and start over.

I still haven't decided if i'm going to buy this year's game for the very same reason. I just feel like i'll buy this game and make it barely 1/4 of the way through the season and next year's game will be here.

Ive done it 3 times; World Series Baseball '95 for sega genesis. I clobbered the Reds in the world series.

World Series Baseball 2K3 lost in the first round to the Mariners.

And again in MVP 05, lost in the first round to the Twins.
