I just thought this was about as hilarious as can be. Who else here besides me got impatient and just said "screw it" and bought points to boost the player? I mean scea makes it take to long to be elite. I guess they don't believe in prodigy.

I bought like $15 worth of points and used them on my first Kenny Powers SP in '10. He went through the minors in a flash.

He ended up pitching until he was 48 and broke the wins and strikeouts records and pretty much anything else you can think of. He won the Cy Young and MVP for 15 years straight (maybe more lol) and earned over $450m in his career. He was also in the 300 club. (yes kenny powers hit 300 home runs)

I have no desire to purchase points again, but man that was fun.

I bought points with money I all ready had. I wanted to buy the Stadium pack last year and had like $3 leftover, so I picked up some points for my RTTS pitcher.

I bought 6000 points and used 4000 of them on speed, base-running ability and aggression. I just thought that, of all of the traits, speed is one you really can't develop. I mean, if you're Prince Fielder you can't develop your speed to become Ricky Henderson.

The other 2000 I eventually used on fielding.

Its definitely like cheating, but for this game it is more like taking steroids. At least that's how I see it.

I just can't spend more money after already spending $60 on the game. It's not the cheating aspect that bothers me, it's the money. I'm just cheap.

I absolutley lived the Jenny powers pull. Good one...as for cheating, I don't know...I think its cheating how sorry your player is for so long. I mean I get that you got to start somewhere but man...dirt bottom is no fun at all. Guess I am a digital steroids kinda guy.

I've never purchased points, but have wondered if it really did much to speed up the RTTS promotions.

I actually think it's easier in this version ('12) than last year's. I made a 1B (putouts and assists), started out AA, moved to AAA at the first promotion opportunity, then got traded a few games later (from NYY to COL), and was in the bigs before the all-star break.

That's never happened for me in previous versions of RTTS.

I actually enjoy that aspect of RTTS, how you start small and slowly work your way up. It's what makes the mode fun for me.
