Never had a freeze prior to patch, just d/l the patch loaded my sliders, loaded OSFM 25 man roster set...hit random teams in exhibition. After introduction the PBP goes silent, that's not an awful thing.... after end of 1st inning, game freezes on screen shot of Monument Park at Yankee Stadium.

I cant even quit game or turn off PS3 from controller no matter how long I hold down the PS button, I have to power off from console....

I'm having to power off from the console too. Really hate doing that. Good way to corrupt files. Sometimes I miss the days when you didn't have to worry about video game system files getting messed up.

I also have never had a freezing issue with this game... until today. I am in game 4 or 5 of my Season. Everything was fine until the patch downloaded just now. I can get into my season, then I get to the part where I simulate all the games and go to play MY game, and it freezes. It's happened in the same exact spot twice now. Not sure I will be able to get into my Season again. This is terrible.

You should be fine if you delete the patch (go to Game Data Utility). After deleting the patch I tried loading up the same franchise that was freezing on me during load-up and had no issues. Just finished a game and I'm two innings into a second one with no issues, so far.

Care to try this with the stock (SCEA) roster too?

I could, but it would seem a little redundant since I had stock roster save files from pre-patch and couldn't re-create the freeze. It would essentially be the same thing as that. Unless you meant the official roster update. Either way though, I had already redownloaded the patch by the time I read this. Sorry!

Here's the full breakdown of what I just did with the OSFM:

- Deleted Game Data and additional content (don't know what that was, but it was the exact same size as the patch so I figured I should wipe it just to be safe)

- Re-downloaded online pass from PS store (just including this for anyone else who tries this - it's free if you already had it, just go to the download list)

- Re-installed game data, and skipped the patch download (leaving my game at factory default)

- Created new OSFM roster franchise with 30 team control as that's probably what most people use with OSFM, and whatever the default mode specific options are (I believe that includes manual roster management)

- Simmed up to the start of June (someone reported having the freeze at two months). No freezing.

- Saved the franchise and downloaded the patch

- Loaded saved franchise without incident and simmed for another few months. NO FREEZE.


Whatever the problem is here, it's not going to be easy to find the root cause. I'm torn between this perhaps just being an OSFM issue independent of the patch that people are only noticing now as they start franchises (it wasn't that long ago that they came out) , or it really being a patch issue.

One of these tests is enough for me for now, and I have to get some lunch.

To be more specific about my post in the other thread:
I loaded my previously saved 30 team control franchise (using Knight's Spring Training rosters). I simmed three games, and then played a full game on June 29 of the franchise (Reds @ Giants) and lost. I viewed the next days games for June 30th and began simming MLB games, game by game. I got through the entire day and exited that screen back to the Reds schedule, and hit X to bring up the menu (Organizational GaMes, Today's Games, etc.) and hit View Today's Games, and it froze. I was on the Reds schedule for July.

One thing I do remember about simming before I played the Reds/Giants game was that the Angles - Blue Jays from June 29 had a winning pitcher (Morrow), losing pitcher(idk), and save listed (with records) but no line score and no logo to the left of the linescore. I simmed the game and it had an Angels win with everything in the linescore filled in and new pitchers with the win, loss, and save.

I think your sounds get deleted as well and you will have to readd player walkup music. I remember i did this on an earlier version of the show and I had to readd my music.

I'm not deleting anything. I refuse to restart an entire weeks worth of work I put into this too. I'm just not gonna touch the damn game until something is fixed again. Guess I'll have to keep track of the everyday transactions for later use.

Okay, wasn't aware of that - fortunately I don't use sounds of the show much so I didn't have anything to lose there.

Might want to be careful deleting the game data if you have a bunch of sounds then.

I was super close to downloading the patch until I read your post at the very last second. The freezing and stats (i.e. HR leader have 17.00) is enough to keep me away.

I don't understand how some people are not having freezing issues. I would not want to start my franchise over.

I didn't have time to try to start a game, but I was able to load my existing franchise with no freezing. I tried cycling through different teams' schedules, went to the "View Today's Games" option, and simmed a few weeks. Everything worked fine for me. I used the OSFM roster with a few player edits as the roster for my franchise. It is a 30 team control, with my default profile for the Cardinals, and a dummy CPU profile for all the other teams.

There should be an "add-on" The Show 12 file under Game Data Utility. That's specifically the 1.06 patch. That's what I deleted and haven't had any issues so far.

FYI, for those who want to uninstall the patch or skip it all together, it appears the patch is required to use cloud saves, which is a real bummer to me.

Is it just the 1.06 patch and absolutely nothing else?
