Re: What is the longest game you've played in the MLB:The Show series?

Just a couple of weeks ago I had a Diamond Dynasty game against the Astros go for 20 innings. One of my guys hit a three run homer into the Crawford boxes in the top of the first, which made me feel pretty confident. Gave up three more runs over the next few innings, and my bats would also be shut out for the next 18 innings. Finally in the top of the 20th, one of my guys takes a low slider and absolutely crushes it deep to left center. The bottom of the inning was an adventure, and I brought my closer in (at least I saved him!) for one last out in the bottom of the 20th with two outs and runners on first and second. I got Carlos Lee to pop up to end the game.

There were many times that I felt like serving up a meatball to end my misery, but the further you go, the more you change your mind and want to win.

I also know what it's like when you have a "just one more game" or "I'll do this when I'm done" mentality. During the fourth inning of one game I told myself I'll make dinner once the game is over. Finally won in 15 innings and I was starving.
When the Giants come to town, it's Bye Bye Baby...

Just a couple days ago i had back to back 16 and 17 inning games respectively. But the longest ever was in me and my buddies offline two player chose last years. 22 inning thriller. It was pretty awesome lol. It was at Yankee stadium, and the wind blowing out so we were just crushing the ball. Final score was like 16-15 or somewhere in that area I believe.

Re: What is the longest game you've played in the MLB:The Show series?

I had a Diamond Dynasty game go 28 innings the first week of the game being out, then went I 18-19 innings a few times in the following week. Here is my writeup on the 28 inning game.

"I started my team in tribute to my alma mater Miami University (class of '05). My second game of the season, with my poor attribute players (I'm trying to build up my DD players instead of playing with MLB pros), I experienced something I never did in approximately 10 full 162 game seasons of MVP Baseball 04 and 05 or any other old baseball game I used to play... a 28 inning game.

Now, you might be wondering how this monstrosity occurred. 1) My players are terrible. 2) I'm playing the Royals. 3) I am pretty good at pitching. 4) I am working on finding what hitting settings work best for me. In my franchise, I score usually 4-9 runs on Veteran with 1-3 HR per game. This was a Rookie settings game. Yeah, refer back to #1. 5) I've found if you have 2-3 good players surrounded by scrubs, the CPU doesn't mind intentionally walking you. Darnit. 6) I HATE to lose and I was willing to burn through all of my relief pitchers to win this one game. 7) Oh yeah, I'm terrible at baserunning. Man on 1st, no outs, 16th inning. Hit a double that thought it would be caught. Ok, 2nd and 3rd, no outs. Annoying, but no biggie, right? Well, I thought the same thing until I lined out to short left, they intentionally walked my top hitter, and then I grounded into a "tag" him out (baserunner ran through the 1B) and toss to first double play. I would've been safe at 1st on a throw to second. So annoying. But, that was just one of the frustrating examples of bad baserunning I exhibited."

I wrote that up the day after playing this game. Now that I've gotten better at the game, there is no way I would've lost or it would have gone this far. My baserunning and stealing skills were horrible (I hadn't played a video game in years b/c of law school) and I didn't know about selecting runners to advance on their own. Oops!

20 innings, MLB 11 last year

Phils 6 (me), Mets 5 (cpu)

never thought it would end, remember giving myself 'til the 20th before simming out. TCB in the nick of time. box score was nuts.

I played 20 innings as the O's against the Rays. I won 2 to 1...its was painful.

                      In MLB 11

In my old Boston chise it was the 2nd game. We were up against the Rangers. There was alot of hits but just no runs. We were in the 21st inning, 0-0.I had moved Dice-K to the bullpen because I traded for Chris Carpenter. I put Dice- K in, and what does he do? Gives up back to back doubles to lose us the game. 21 Scorless innings and Dice-K gives the game away in 2 at bats.

I mostly spectate my games CPU vs. CPU, but lately I've decided to play a few. Last night was about the 5th game I've ever played on MLB 12, and it went 19 innings, lol. Was tied at 3-3 from 9th to 19th inning.

Got a single at top of 19th (Mariners at Oakland), then put in Figgins to pinch run - he then stole 2nd. Ackley hit a dribbling liner just past the 1st baseman, and Figgie ran home, patting home plate just as the catcher got the ball thrown in. Very dramatic!

Game lasted about 5 hours, lol - didn't get to bed until about 2am

This is an old topic, but I was curious and googled it and this popped up and I had to share what happened to me personally. This is MLB the Show 14 franchise on the PS4 and it's game 6 of the World Series. We're playing the Cubs at home and we went 32 innings and lost 14-12. The previous 2 games we lost in extras as well on walk-off homers after being up 3-0. (Don't worry, we won game 7 9-3.)
