I think it may be time for me to adjust my sliders a bit. I thought things were going okay.. nothing great but okay..

Here are my team ranks just about half way through may..

          BA - 30th (.230)
          Runs - 30th (104 .. next is the twins with 107)
          Hits - 29th (250)
          Doubles - T16th (57) .. ?
          Triples - T2nd (8) .. suprising
          HR - 30th (14) .. next is pirates with 22
          RBI - 30th
K's - 1st (as in best.. so im not just swinging at junk)
          Slugging - 30th (.355)
          OBP - 30th (.288)
          Total Bases - 30th (365) .. next has 400

If it weren't for my pitching (ranked fairly high in most categories), and my #1 ranked defense I probably would have caught onto this a lot quicker. Any thoughts? I'm using TNK's sliders but I use Analog hitting instead of timing.. I've heard timing works better but i just like the feel of pulling back the joystick to step and pushing forwards to swing.

Well the team is pretty bad, usually sliders are for upping difficulty to make things more real. Not the other way around.

The team is pretty bad I understand that, however I am in year three with a slightly improved lineup. But I guess maybe I should just learn to hit better before tampering with the sliders at all.

I suppose I'll just have to keep winning with my pitching and small ball heh

i assume ur not drawing walks and subsequently not getting on base enough, maybe lowering the CPU strike frequency down a notch or two..also up contact, power, solid hits up a notch if u'd like and yes i do feel better using timing even if im not always successful

Yea I don't walk super often, but that is just me being a bit impatient. I am not last in that category so I don't think it is a big issue. Bogey actually has 14 walks so far which is good enough for a 16th place tie in the league. I like the sliders TNK put out so I don't think I am going to change them. I might bump power up one notch and see what happens. I'm not trying to score 10 runs a game or lead the league in homers with anybody on this roster.. I just feel like my hit breakdown isn't quite accurate currently.

So i just finished the 4 game series with the Padres. After losing the first 3 games I was able to salvage the final game. The matchup was Wandy vs Volquez. Volquez pitched 6 innings and allowed 1 run when he left the game (about 110 pitches)(JD, Johnson, and Lowrie didnt play). Wandy pitched 8 innings of 1 run ball (Maybin homered in the first at bat of the game). In the bottom of the 8th we took the lead on a Castro double to begin the inning and the next batter, Scott Moore, bringing him in on a single. I tried to to let Wandy finish the game but he gave up a hit to the first batter of the 9th, so i brought in Myers. Myers gave up a hit, but then got a pop-up, strikeout, and groundout to finish the game. In the game both Bogs and Schaffer had 2 steals, and Wandy had 2 hits.

In the last 15 games we have only won 3 games, all of those games where won by Wandy who is now the league leader in IP, fewest BB allowed, and 3rd on WHIP. Also Myers has lowered his ERA to 4.30 and is 3rd in the league in saves.

Next up is a series at Wrigley field, let's see if my Stros can turn it around.

Good luck.. I'm currently playing them a few years down the line and their lineup gets a bit fierce in the middle thats for sure. Rizzo has 3 homers against me through 1 1/2 games, Castro has been on base in most of his AB's, and Brett Jackson is nobody to toss a 'get it over' fastball too either. Not to mention they also have Jorge Soler in my franchise.

My first game of the series with the Cubs went pretty well. The pitching matchup was Bud Norris v Dempster. They're starting lineup had Castro batting 3rd, he went 0-4 with 1 K, and Rizzo later on pinch hit and he grounded out.

My offense began producing from the 1st inning. Schaffer got on base with a bunt, and later stole 2nd (23rd of the year 2nd place in NL). Bogs wasnt able to move him to 3rd but it didnt matter bc JD brought him in on a 2 run HR (9th of the year, now batting .307, top 10 in NL). Bud also gave up a run in the 1st inning but it was unearned.

The score stayed at 2-1, until in the 7th, with 2 men on base and 2 out, Scott Moore had another clutch hit. He doubled to deep right center field scoring both Castro and Lowrie. Moore ended up 3-4 with 3 rbi. After the 1st inning hiccup Bud went 8 innings without allowing an earned run and struckout 10!! Earning his 6th win of the year. Cruz ended the game in the 9th. Castro and Bogusevic also had nice games, both with 2 hits.

So overall a great start to this roadtrip, now that we have a winning streak hopefully we can keep driving this momentum.

Also a transaction I made before the game was, I sent down Paredes who had been struggling mightily and brought up Brett Wallace who was doing ok in AAA.

My season has been bad, as i expected. I'm currently 15 games behind the 1st place Cards.

Since the awful stretch of games where i went 3-15, i have won 3 in a row, with the latest victory coming after an excellent performance from JA Happ. He went 8 innings of shutout ball, and earned his 3rd victory of the year. Scott Moore again provided solid offense for me with a triple and a double. Myers shut it down in the 9th earning his 24th save.

Right now im looking to trade Wandy. I already sent a proposal to the Tigers on the arbitration panel, but havent gotten a response back yet.

Thats basically it, i was expecting a bad season when i decided to franchise with the Stros so its not much of a surprise. What's good though is that players for the future like JD, Lyles, Norris, Cosart, Singleton, Folty, and Villar, among others are having good seasons. That's pretty much it man.

After my last game with the Cubbies i just finished the month of June... Honestly if you start an Astros franchise you have to know that its a rebuilding process... I actually like the fact that I'm not that good, after playing with my Yanks for about a month I realized that I wanted more of a challenge, and for a challenge the Stros are the way to go... Believe me i wouldnt be playing a franchise with a team that loses so much if I wasnt having a lot of fun, and right now I am . The Gm rebuilding aspect of the game really entertains me.
