u hit the nail on the head with Milk Carton....his WHIP is a smidge over 1.....i've always liked Wallace in the Show...at least that's one bright spot of my offense

      Re: Da Astros

Well I just finished simming through May and I can't say I'm having the same success as you guys (not that this bothers me.. hello #1 pick 2013). My Astros are in last place with a record of 16-35 (2nd worst in baseball .. the Marlins are 16-36). I have faith in my guys being able to lose a few more than them ..

Jed Lowrie is leading my big league club hitting .302, 6HR, with 23 RBI. Brett Wallace is right behind him .290, 4HR, 23RBI. Altuve has his average at .278 with 5HR and 28RBI (whhhat?.. hes hitting lead off lol).

Matt Dominguez has lost the starting job hitting under .200, everybody else is pretty much middle of the line .250 hitters.

Pitching has been losing us games. First off Lucas Harrell played himself into AAA and is about to be moved to AA (go ahead and smile NFG). He started the year 0-8 with an ERA above 7. Norris just got back off the DL. Cordero is pitching lights out as closer lol. I lost Wesley Wright to a head fracture so I'm crossing my fingers that he doesn't retire but I think he will because the first year player draft hasn't happened yet .

Correa and Singleton are playing very well so far with decent averages and power numbers.

      off to work

the bolded part is quite refreshing....unfortunately i can relate to uncommon hitters driving in runs as Paredes is 2nd on the team with 35...with the minors, mostly every hitter is awful...Singleton is at .234, Villar at .243, Grossman at .229, Springer at .226, Correa at .211, Santana at .198...and 4 out of the 5 guys i selected in the draft are position guys lol

            Re: Da Astros

So I just did my first year player draft and boyyyyy did I ever get lucky. I looked through my scouted players (which I have to say it is really annoying with 30 team control having a target next to almost everybody lol). Most of the high potential guys I scouted were low rated (unfortunately) and I knew I could get them with my second pick or later.

So I went out on a limb and drafted the #1 guy available. A first baseman with hitting attributes that would be pretty much the best on my team right now. Contact and power vs righties are both about 2/3 full (with power being a bit more than 2/3 full). Contact and Power vs lefties are both about 3/4. Then add to that he has very good speed, exceptional BR ability, and very good BR Agg.

Check his information after the draft. A potential.. C Overall.. 19 years old.

I think we have a future member of the hall of fame ladies and gentleman.

The other guys are okay. Three A potential outfielders who are going to be in the minors for a very long time, and a D potential guy I think I drafted by accident lol.

Not to go too off topic, but I drafted an 18 y/o A POT C OVR outfielder once, and trust me, these guys develop well. He'll be a B at age 21 if you develop him right. Start him in Double A.

Yea I have drafted guys like this before and I know they turn out well. It was just the complete dumb luck of drafting one blind that shocked me.

I am going to start him in AA, but with his hitting attributes it will be hard to watch him down their with whoever I have struggling in the majors lol.

It's only a matter of time before the A's try to deal both Reddick and Cespedes for Harrell. That's all the A's need to make it to the top...a legit Ace.

Lunhow would of course deny such a dreadful deal.

Man I'm glad I was simming the first season..

Wesley Wright - 6+ months with head fracture
Bud Norris - 2-3 Months (forgot injury)
                        J.D. Martinez - 2-3 Months
Jason Castro - 2-3 Months (in the same game as norris was injured lol)

Luckily none of them retired at the end of the season.

that is awful...what did u have ur injury frequency slider on? i had to lower it down a notch to 4 to prevent situations like yours

Not sure .. whatever it has always been on since I adjusted my sliders. There was a typo in there. J.D. Martinez's injury was just 2-3 weeks I believe not months lol.

Still terrible. It was all at the same time (except wrights) which caught my eye while simming.

there's always a stretch where nobody goes down followed by stretches where your guys start dropping like flies.....cant seem to find the perfect medium as of yet

Yup that is how it seems to go. Then again this can't be completely ruled as unrealistic. At a quick glance for example the Red Sox have 11 players on the DL right now, and 4 of them are on the 60 day. The Yankees have 10 players on the DL 8 of which are on the 60 day.

I think it is just annoying when it happens in video games haha
