Ok, I have yet to download the patch, I just ignore it when it pops up. Here is my question. I am on May 6th of an existing fanchise. Can I safely download the patch and continue with my franchise with no freeze problems or should I wait for this mess of a patch to get patched again.

What about the Vita? Apparently even if you start a franchise after the patch, you still can't use the cross-platform feature as it will make the schedules incorrect again.

So long as you sim past May 1 you're ok. The Vita games will still be at 7 or 1 only, but your PS3 games will be the correct times.

This is what I had to do and I haven't experienced any issues as of yet. I played a game on PS3, one on Vita, and then 3 more on PS3 and I haven't run into any freezes.

It's a little frustrating no doubt, but better than having to completely restart. I'd really love some info on whether or not a Vita patch is coming, and when.

I started a franchise pre-patch, downloaded the patch and have had no freezing issues. I am about to play my last game of April, and then I move on to May 1. Am I understanding this correctly that once you reach May 1st you are in the clear, regardless of when you started your franchise and downloaded the patch?

AND MOST USERS WILL NOT HAVE THIS ISSUE.

Sounds like you are okay to do anything you want.

This is why I'm confused. Below, Russell states if you meet all 3 criteria you are at risk for these freeze issues.

Conditions
You are at risk for the issue if you meet all three of the following
conditions:

- You already started the Franchise, Season mode, or Road to the Show mode
BEFORE downloading the patch; OR you have played and saved your file from
your Playstation Vita
- Have started the regular season in the game file (ie: you're done with
Spring Training)
- Your team is Oakland, Seattle, Kansas City, or Miami, or you have
completed 1 or more games against one of these teams.
- You are loading pre-patch saves in the month of April, after patching.

However, there are four issues here. Does he mean that if you meet 3 of the 4 you are at risk or does he mean if you meet all 4 criteria you are at risk?

Currently, I meet 3 of the 4 criteria.

Think its all a bit ridiculous to be honest. I know a lot of hard work goes into patching and all but a big game like this, which people invest days and months into, to release something where they will have re start all of that is really bad.

Are these same issues related to online leagues? Reason I ask is more leagues are experiencing more disconnects etc since patch release

Can I start a new Franchise on Vita, play through April and then once I hit May on the schedule, use Cloud saves to then play games on either the PS3 or Vita?

If so, I have no real problem with that, so long as I can eventually use cross-platform, seeing as how that was a selling point of the Vita.
