Middlebrooks is crushing the ball right now, arguably swinging the hottest bat in the minors.

Dodgers give: Matt Kemp + any random 3rd basemen of at least AAA level

in exchange for A-Gon and a decent outfielder

Or something like that... John Lackey and whoever, for Matt Kemp and a scrub pitcher.... etc...

And Matt Kemp is not the best outfielder in the game lol.

In real life Dodgers would laugh and hang up the phone. It would have to be Gonzalez, Ellsbury and a top level pitcher before anything really.

You guys are thinking too much about real life. First of all, real life Matt Kemp is way better than The Show's version, second, John Lackey is highly rated in-game. I didn't see anything in the OP about realistic trades, just fair ones.

Re: What's a fair trade for Matt Kemp?

I had a fantasy season and can never pass on Tulo as my first pick.

But I've been just playing around and trying to trade and create a super-team.

I ended up drafting Michael Stanton and trading him + a very low rated A prospect for Kemp + Aubrey Huff. Took on Huff's contract but then traded him for Jason Donald as a backup infielder.

I gave up Stanton's contract for Kemp's...but Kemp is a beast.

Ok here we go, Matt Kemp, Juan Uribe, James Loney for Adrian Gonzalez, Kevin Youklis, Jon Lester. I believe this is the most fair possible trade.

Lackey is also what? 30-something? A fair trade in the game would be nothing short of Ellsbury, Pedroia and a high-A potential prospect at least.

I look at this thread and now I know exactly why no one is ever happy with the trade logic in The Show. You guys can't even agree on the definition of "good trade." I feel for the developers sometimes

sometimes i like to mix ratings in-game and how a guy is doing IRL but in this case, i cant take any trade involving Kemp and John Lackey in the same sentence as being fair no matter how u put it...u cant even tell me with a straight face that if u were the Dodgers (in the video game) u would even listen to trade offers that included Lackey.

the trade logic is atrocious...i dont know how u can justify it

Same, I can't hit for power with Kemp last year or this year. I can hit singles and double fine, but it is so hard to hit a homer with him.

I had the same problem in '10 with Miggy, who was a .280 30HR hitter for me, but so far this year he is hitting .350 10HR 25RBI for me (although 5-6 HR have just cleared the wall and one hit the very top of the wall in NY for a homer, so I'm getting lucky for the most part)

Back on topic, I think TruBluDodgerFan's trade is the closest to any possible deal. Although I would take out Lackey and put in an A prospect.

By Kemp's salary being $14M in da game. The trade would have to include at least one or two stars & "A" prospect. I think Crawford & Beckett could make the deal work..
