Re: MLB 12 The Show - No Hitter/Perfect Game Thread

Just threw my first this year with Brandon Beachy against the Astros in april of my chise. I got a little bit nervous beginning the 7th inning but Beachy showed no signs of it and kept rolling. Only blemish is got the 1st out in the 9th on a 3-2 groundout to first, then walked the next batter(which really really almost made me throw the controller into the tv lol. But I regrouped and Beachy just kept rolling. Seems like all my starters i'm lights out with except Hudson i'm going to have to trade him.

Also anyone know why every time I hit the quick reply button now it just quotes instead of allowing the quick reply?

Whats the difference between a no hitter and a perfect game? I'm not that big into baseball but I have The Sow and have a passing interesting in baseball (although I am going to a Yankees game in a few weeks)

Basically is it like a no hitter means that no-one hits the ball but you can end up walking them to the bases but a perfect game is where you get every single player out?

A perfect game is really a team effort accomplishment. To have a perfect game there has to be no hits allowed, no walks given, and no errors committed.

Meanwhile a no-hitter is just that its just a no-hitter with however many walks or errors you give up.

Just threw a no-no with Jair Jurrjens on All Star with Classic pitching - it's my first complete game this year as well!

Uggla committed an error on a simple grounder in the 3rd inning and I walked someone in the 7th, but otherwise, no real heart-in-mouth moments...surprisingly straight forward!!

unfortunately, I never have time to finish a whole game in one go, so I played this over three saves (one at the end of the 1st, one at the end of the 6th) so didn't get the trophy... :-(

I've pitched three straight no hit bids into at least 5th with Tim Stauffer in my franchise. I had one into the 7th, and Juan Pierre broke it up with a bunt! That's in violation of an unwritten baseball rule! It wasn't even a great bunt, it was not far from catcher. He got out quickly and threw a rocket over to 1st, and it was practically a tie! I was so pissed!

I've pitched 2 perfect games on the Show, one back in 10 with Cubs' Big Z against Houston. Then this year, i got bored one night and decided i would make a Miami franchise, on Opening Day against the Cardinals i threw a perfect game with Josh Johnson, it was really cool cause i didn't notice i had one till the 6th inning, i was up one nothing in the bottom of the 8th and launched a two run jack with Stanton to make it 3-0. Then in the 9th, struck out the first batter, second batter grounded out, then the last out was a pop out to the third baseman. It was epic.

Just pitched a perfect game with my boy on this game. Francisco Liriano against the O's. He had 9k's and was getting great defensive catches all game. The great thing about this game is that we won it 1-0 and the only run was on a hr by Revere on the first pitch of the game.

I threw my first one since Little League Baseball on the NES.

It was with my RTTS guy in AAA for the White Sox, it seemed like the perfect end to a great AAA season where my guy was 13-3 2.29ERA 177K's 201.2INN. I was the best pitcher in the org. but I couldn't get the call up, which was ok I guess as the sox were 20 games out and we were headed to the AAA playoffs.

My only dissappointment was there is no bonus PE points for a no-no or perfect game, you just get the points for a CG-SO.

closest that I ever came to a perfect game was with Josh Johnson in a franchise game. A buddy of mine and I were thru 8 1/3 with Josh in a co-op game, and unfortunately I was the one who gave up the hit.
