I've played 5 games since then, and the game is still defaulting to the wrong guys. It tries to start #3 when I'm actually on #2, #4 instead of #3, and so on. It's pretty annoying because a few times I've already started games with the wrong starter accidentally, because I didn't realize the CPU defaulted to the wrong guy. Will this ever change? Will I have to skip a spot in the rotation just so the game will leave me alone?

Change Scheduled Starters?
Is this possible at all? I had like 2 or 3 extra-innings games in a row, and my pitching staff got shelled, so I decided to use a 6th starter, and give my entire rotation an extra day of rest.

Re: Change Scheduled Starters?
You have to move the pitchers in your pitching rotation. For instance, move your ace to the #2 spot, the 2 to the 3, etc. That should get your rotation back in the order you want. -
Re: Change Scheduled Starters?
IRL this is what happens, pitching spots 1-5 only really matter for opening day and the playoffs. I do this quite often in my francise. If you make the postseason you must reorder your staff to have your ace pitching first game of the series.....Comment

Re: Change Scheduled Starters?
Do any of you guys skip your #5's early in the season, especially when off days line up perfectly? I know teams like to have their #1 start 34 games if possible, that's usually 1 extra start per year.Bakin' soda, I got bakin' sodaComment

Re: Change Scheduled Starters?
But won't changing the rotation affect how the game labels certain players? For example, when the announcers are talking about "tomorrow's starters," will they call my #5 guy the ace simply because he's in the #1 spot? And the newspaper article too? That's the main reason I didn't want to just re-order everyone.Comment

I dont know that this is the case, but if so, then I think youll just have to decide the lesser of 2 evils...
poor broadcasting or an over worked rotation.Comment

Re: Change Scheduled Starters?
Exactly, rotations get reordered all the time due to all sorts of things, little injuries, matchups, etc., and what seanjeezy says here:
That definitely happens, the 5 guy getting bumped for the 1 and 2 and then maybe he goes, then the 3, 4, etc., so it's changing around all the time (yes, I do this, but it seems that often the guy who starts as #5, particularly if he's a younger guy, will turn out to be someone you count on as the season goes on and maybe moves up to 3 or 4, so it can change as things go along).
That I can't answer completely, though I seem to remember that as I switch things around it still refers to Tim Hudson as my "ace" even if he's not in my #1 slot. But I agree that those little things might need to be sacrificed in order to actually handle the rotation the way it needs to be--broadcasters /newspapers often get that kind of stuff wrong anyway, right? But won't changing the rotation affect how the game labels certain players?
