so is the difference between this and the trade thread; the fact that in this thread you talk to a "representative" from the team you're trying to trade to? whereas in the trade thread you just get suggestions

Pretty much, yeah. It adds in the negotiation aspect of it that the game and trade discussion thread sorely lack.
