I think this is a good idea, as a beginning for some "ground rules," and thought to mention that some context from the proposing side's Franchise world might be necessary (i.e., yes, I know the Braves, but if the Braves in YOUR franchise have traded Hudson away and are going with Teheran in the rotation, then that might change my answer as to how valuable he is, and other players are in relation to that re-evaluation; or a rash of injuries, or a player performing significantly above/below normal, etc). Not TOO much--the other GM doesn't need to know ALL the details, just big, relevant ones. And the relative position if not exact standings--in your universe, am I contending or not? That kind of thing can affect how you view a trade.
Or not, of course, if we want to keep it all general and hypothetical. Also, could get complicated as we progress ("I'm in 2018, and I want to trade for X player..." Well, what is X player like in your universe?) Not trying to throw wrenches, just thinking aloud, as it were. Other thoughts?
