Sorry its taken so long for me to get back to you but I had to personally see to a couple of players that my scouts are hot too for the upcoming draft. Now to get down to business. We wouldn't really be interested in the young players you spoke too as we are set at those positions for a long time we hope. As for what we would possibly be able to move, we think we might be priced out. We would scale back to just Haren and we would be willing to move Broxton, Cuthbert, and Colon. We understand if you believe you piece worth more than that but that would be our limit.

Here are the players stats you have asked for. As of 5/20/12

    SP - Dan Haren

    W - 5 / L - 2 / ERA - 2.68 / SO - 33 / IP - 53.2 / OPP Avg. - .259

    RF - Tori Hunter

    Avg - .264 / HR - 8 / RBI'S - 15 / Vrs L - .318

Can we also interest you in a couple prospects in our system. Since we recently signed Aybar to 5 more years and the Trumbo at 3rd experience is working for us, we have Kaleb Coward and Jean Segura available at the right price. Here's their stats.

    Jean Segura SS AAA Stats B/T : R/R Pot. - B Age - 22

    G - 34 / AVG - .298 / SB - 5 / RBI'S - 11 / OBP. - .352

    Kaleb Coward 3rd AS Stats B/T : S/R Pot. - B Age - 20

    G - 35 / AVG - .306 / HR'S - 6 / RBI'S - 31 / OBP - .352

Let me know what you think. Our asking price for Haren would be around 2 A's and a B. For Hunter we would seek a mid to high level B. Positions we are seeking is a future catcher minimum a year away from the Show. A OF 2 or 3 years away from the show. A 2nd , SP and RP. As for French. Taking it your referring to Francoeur. We aren't interested unless maybe its just a throw in. As we are currently set in our OF and bench. If anything we would like to also get rid of Wells.

    Possible guys we are looking at;

    CP - Jonathon Broxton (Pot. - B)
    C - Salvador Perez (Pot. - B)
    3rd - Cheslor Cuthbert (Pot. - A)
    SS - Christian Colon (Pot. - B)
    OF - Will Myers (Pot. - A)
    SP - John Lamb (Pot. - A)

    Yours Truly,

    Jerry Dipoto

Thanks for your response. I think we're pretty close. We really had our eye on Strop. Would you be willing to swap him for Townsend? If McGehee were added, would you do a combo of Strop/Wheeler/Givens?

We can most certainly work out a deal here, I propose this.

      Orioles receive:
      Joel Hanrahan
      Casey McGehee

      Pirates receive:
      Brian Matusz
      Pedro Strop
      Mychal Givens

If you are still hesitant of trading McGehee we could possibly add Dan Klein to sweeten the pot.

I think we're just a hair away from a deal. Thanks for all your time on this. I'd pull the trigger for sure on the following:

        Orioles receive:
        Joel Hanrahan
        Casey McGehee

        Pirates receive:
        Brian Matusz
        Pedro Strop
        Zelous Wheeler
One of: Mychal Givens/Dan Klein/Tyler Townsend

        Best,
        Pirates GM

OOC: I'm sorry if I'm being a stickler, I just really enjoy these negotiations. Matusz, Strop, Givens and Klein sounds more than fair to me if you'd like to end the back-and-forth. Thanks again for all your time and effort.

Hmm.. I can think of 2 possible deals that could hopefully end these negotiations. How about one of these?

Those both sound quite fair to me. Thanks again for all your time, it's been a pleasure negotiating with you.

I think we shall agree to the following:

            Orioles receive:
            Joel Hanrahan

            Pirates receive:
            Brian Matusz

78% of the posts were from MSUboy. Don't be scared to post here, there aren't generally too many deals going on at once.

Wasn't pretty. I think he made about 30-something pages worth of posts in total. If your display settings are the same as mine, that's 300 posts. Seems like a believable number.

Sounds about right...I know I was peering in here for like 2 weeks before I got The Show, and he was like every other post in here.

But I think we should probably avoid that topic, bottom line is that guys shouldn't be afraid to post in here or venture in here because of former issues.

And I can't wait for Scott's rosters! Which is why a lot of the talks in here are dead I assume lol

It is. For those who don't know, he's done the AL. Should be released in 3-4 days, which is actually a fairly pessimistic prediction.

yea thats why i think alot of the activity died down since it started, was simply because alot of people are waiting for Scott's roster to drop

I know we're only a couple of weeks into the 2012 season, but I'm interested in getting some initial insight into what you might be looking for in exchange for Cole Hamels. We feel pretty good about our rotation, so we're by no means desperate to add someone, but we feel like Cole can be a good veteran addition to our staff.

                                Thanks,
