I am not having any serious issues with the patch. You can do any or both of the following:

    1. Disconnect from the internet so you won't be bothered with patch requests and play without the patch.

    2. Download the patch and play.

You can always delete the patch by going to, I believe, Game Data. However, based on my experience playing over 100 games, I see no reason to be weary of the patch. Oh, and I don't play online or RTTS.

      Hi guys.

I've just a question, since I don't want to read the whole 17 pages of the topic.

I've bought the Show yesterday and downloaded the latest patch. Are there any risks (I'm a franchise guy only) ?

      Thank you for your answers.

I made a thread concerning this. But during my pre-swing routine when I bring the bat back up to prepare to hit it does this weird herky jerky motion instead of being smooth like mlb 11 the show. I don't know how to stop it. It is a small thing that bugs me a lot. I rebuilt the database and reinstalled the game but it won't go away.

Should I undownload this patch and how do I do that?

So are there roster patches without bug/glitch patches or is that a stupid question?

I agree, scea has no doubt been all but unheard from this year. It's almost like thy gave up on this years addition and didn't want to explain themselves. The patch issues are ridiculous. First of all, the whole patch thing has gotten out of control with all games, not just the show. Secondly, if you expect people to pay 60 bucks at least use the patches to improve the experience. And my final thought is, I cannot believe that we have to download a patch to be able to play with the classic stadiums we have already purchased.

I remember back in the day when game companies had to make games good out of the box, because there was no such thing as an update. Now they just send out some lazy lame attempt and say "Ahh we will patch it later." I think it is hurting all games.

Yep it's my point. They're so quiet and still no patch for Vita.

yes and this is why we're still around.

                        found this.......

Since moving to the PlayStation 3, Sony's MLB: The Show has consistently ranked as one of the highest-rated sports franchises among media outlets. But despite critical acclaim, The Show has performed average at retail.
                        MLB 12: The Show -- 440,000 (PS3) + 70,000 (Vita) = 0.51 million total
                        MLB 11: The Show -- 490,000 (PS3) + 110,000 (PSP) + 130,000 (PS2) = 0.73 million total
                        MLB 10: The Show -- 680,000 (PS3) + 170,000 (PSP) + 410,000 (PS2) = 1.26 million total
                        MLB 09: The Show -- 680,000 (PS3) + 250,000 (PSP) + 330,000 (PS2) = 1.26 million total
                        MLB 08: The Show -- 680,000 (PS3) + 330,000 (PSP) + 420,000 (PS2)= 1.43 million total
                        MLB 07: The Show -- 300,000 (PS3) + 280,000 (PSP) + 930,000 (PS2) = 1.51 million total

Now with the death of 2K baseball, these number will increase a lot next year. How much? Who knows.

And that is quite surprising considering the competition, or lack of competition.

What really counts is how profitable the game is. Unfortunately (for me) baseball isn't really on par with NFL and NBA as far as popularity is concerned these days, so it's only expected that the sales of a baseball game is mediocre *if* compared to those of football and basketball games (or even soccer).

Don't know how much it costs to develop a game like the Show, but if the profitable margin is big enough, that's a success. You could sell several million copies and still lose money if it takes too much $$$ to develop a game.

Hi everyone, I've seen a few people ask this recently and have not seen any answers. I also am having trouble sifting through this thread to find the info.

Let's say I'm starting a franchise from scratch.

                                • Do I update to the latest patch?
                                • Is there any weirdness/bugs? (extra digits after decimals for stats, etc)

I couldn't really find a definitive answer, and I see lots of people asking. can anybody provide a summary of what people should do if they are just going to start fresh?

                                Thanks everyone
