I just had a quick question, when you're doing a draft are the prospects real or are they made up players? and if they're fake is there anyway like in Madden and NBA 2K that you can upload a draft class? and one final question, when recently signed free agents have the mlb the show hat on, does that hat ever become the hat of the team they were signed by? thanks

Re: The Official Draft Discussion Thread
can you change their names so that once they've been drafted they are your actual class? cause i know in 2K12 you can't edit your draftees after they've been chosenComment

Re: The Official Draft Discussion Thread
Yes, if the players end up getting signed by the team, they'll be in the manage roster screen next year. However, there are so few A or B, or even C potential players in the first year draft, it isn't terribly worth it."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: The Official Draft Discussion Thread
and just one more question, when it comes to free agency in the show, say Josh Hamilton becomes a free agent and goes to the Yankees does the hat he's wearing become a Yankees hat or does it stay a Rangers hat, because I noticed in a Red Sox gameplay video that Vicente Padilla had on the generic MLB 12 The Show hat in his photo and I was just wondering if that changes over time, thanks!Comment

Man do yall know why we're able to scout players who are 16/17 years old? I never really understood it. Are we able to sign some of these kids at that age like they do in real life?
Also to the poster above i understand yall mighthave explained if potential can be changed....but its a long thread and even im having trouble finding out where it was discussed.Comment

Don't try and start something, I'm really not in the mood.
People should read through threads. I've been noticing this a lot. No one seems to read through threads at all. No need for names."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

It isn't snarky, and I don't care where you're looking at this. If he had looked through the thread, he would've found his answer."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: The Official Draft Discussion Thread
Does development slow down if you have to rush a prospect.
I lost kurt suzuki in free agency but i had one catcher who`s already a B overall with A potential but hes just 20. I had him in double A full time the prior year and now hes my best catcher and lookslike ill have to start him. Im strapped for cash lol so i cant even sign a serviceable catcher.Comment

Re: The Official Draft Discussion Thread
Hey guys, just a couple of questions I'm curious to know.
I'm still playing 10, even though I had bought 11 when it came out (and ended up selling it) because I wanted to continue my Blue Jays franchise, which I'm currently in the 2014 campaign (where I've unrealistically signed both Ryan Zimmerman and Troy Tulowitski, Zim to a 6 year deal, Tulo to a 2 year + Club Option).
Now, the one frustrating thing about 10 is that the progression system seems... sketchy? I want to know how it's improved as far as 11 and 12 are concerned.
Another thing is, and I'm sure people haven't got this far in '12, but in my 2013 campaign, 26 teams couldn't or wouldn't sign big contracts for stud players, but it was only 8 or 10 players of this caliber (mostly catchers). For example, Yunel Escobar was looking for a 2-4 year deal, 18 mill a year. Which is ridiculous. Now, in 2014, there are about 30 players who should be in the middle of lineups, crushing opposition, who aren't because teams are too cheap to pay for them, opting instead to use younger, cheaper talent who are actually producing. Guys like Josh Hamilton, Albert Pujols, etc.
Did I bring this on myself, by offering contracts to guys like Brian McCann and driving up the price of what other teams needed to pay for him? And is this fixed, so to speak, in '11 and '12?
Thanks.Comment

Player progression is a tad better, but there are too many A's that end up superstars."Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment
