Re: The Official Draft Discussion Thread
Twins did a horrible job developing Sano in my franchise I decided to trade for him and use the guide and its working great. Hes progressing faster than ever before and should be ready for a either a september call up or make the MLB roster next season (I'm in the year 2015 already, My team is stacked but this kid will be a stud)

Re: The Official Draft Discussion Thread
so.. I have 2 for you guys 1st have you noticed that some teams seem to be able to get better scouts than others? ehat I mean by that is I am running 2 different but concurring franchises at the same time (jays/ pirates) and I have found the jays seem to be able to get the 4 player scouts much easier than the pirates
Also I drafted a 2b at age 20 (4th rd) , A pot, low F grade. I am now in year 5 of his development. he is playing AAA and sucking and still only a D should I give up on him and trade him? any Ideas?
Btw I basically use royals formula with a couple personal twistsMLB The Show Hybrid Roster ContributorComment

Re: The Official Draft Discussion Thread
Hey guys. I was looking through Royals guide and he said once a player develops enough, he should slide into his ceiling role. All I was wondering is how you can determine the ceiling? I know it's through the potential grade, but is there any key that will tell you a High A pitcher will be a #1 guy and so forth. Kind of like a grading scale. ThanksComment

Mid A- Superstar
Low A- Borderline star
High B- Perennial All-Star
Mid B- Very good player
Low B- Above average player
High C- OK player
Mid C- Definition of average
Low C- Below replacement level
High D and below- Career minor leaguer"Twelve at-bats is a pretty decent sample size." - Eric ByrnesComment

Re: The Official Draft Discussion Thread
Also, according to Royals guide, it says a high school pitcher in year three should start at AA and then after 5 starts, move up. To move up, should he still follow Royals criteria to advance or is that only from minors to MLB?Comment

Re: The Official Draft Discussion Thread
They were constantly cycling him between minor leagues and majors which led to god awful career stats and poor development. His power was decreasing (I kept track). It seems like none of the CPU teams can do a proper job of managing young players because he is not the only one. I'm seeing guys like Trevor Bauer, Jarrod Parker and Jacob turner have horrible career stats and attributes because they kept getting traded from team to team. Turner has a 4 in change career era and is about 15 games below .500 because he kept getting sent to bottom of the barrel teams. Similar situation with these other players as well.

Re: The Official Draft Discussion Thread
is there a way to change the names of the players you draft? for instance if you're the Red Sox, could you draft a SS in the first round and change his name to Deven Marrero? or are you stuck with the randomly generated names like you are when you do a draft in MLB 2K12Comment

Re: The Official Draft Discussion Thread
now having never played this game and only played 2K, are the ratings in the game all letters, for example A Pot B Speed and things like that or are there actual numerical ratings, for instance when doing a draft in a franchise in 2k12, the draftees don't have any letters whatsoever, they are numbers, just looking to see how the ratings are set up for rookies and veterans pretty muchComment
