Thank you royals for the phenomenal guide.

I was thinking of making a team consisting of only players drafted from the draft. I will remove all the players on the MLB roster 29+,( unless they are relievers)
, then I will sign random free agents to fill in the missing positions. I'll probaly sim a few seasons until I have enough players to fill out an entire AA team. I'm pretty excited for this, it's probaly for my obsession with the draft

That sounds like a cool idea!

I've heard that sound 3 times... once was Babe Ruth, the second was Josh Gibson, and the third was Bo Jackson- Buck O'Neil

Can prospects potential really change? Have you personally seen this happen? Also, I understand that a higher potential yields greater progress, but guys with lower potential such as D, do their stats grow at all or do they just drop?

This has been discussed a LOT, especially in this thread.

Re: The Official Draft Discussion Thread

                  Here's my question on prospects.

I'm starting a new chise. With the beginning of spring training, I have my prospects I want keep on the 40 man. Since they are on the 40 they are in spring training. Should I keep this approach or take them off the 40 so they can only use the training assignments rather risking them getting on a cold streak.

Take them off unless they're close to a starting spot. You're wasting options on them.

Man do yall know why we're able to scout players who are 16/17 years old? I never really understood it. Are we able to sign some of these kids at that age like they do in real life?

Also to the poster above i understand yall mighthave explained if potential can be changed....but its a long thread and even im having trouble finding out where it was discussed.

You draft 17 yr olds pretty much after your first draft is over. This is because these 17 yr olds be eligible for the draft the following year. (When they are 18). I scout 16 yr olds after the 17 yr olds to get a head start.

Pretty much to higher a potential, wait until this player gets hot(little flame), then stick him in class A. Then just hope you get a 'Stock is rising' soon. I think you can possibly get one of these emails every Tuesday. I'm not sure though

I've seen some say it's Tuesday, others Wednesday, others Friday. I think it's a completely random day, which in turn, means...

There's a set amount of days a player has to be hot before he can even have a chance to get the potential-boosting message.

I've done a lot of simming on this, and the only time I've gotten the e-mail is on Wednesday. If you save after you're done on Tuesday, go to Wednesday and go through all the screens to start your next game. When you get to the pitcher select screen, back out and check your e-mail. If there's nothing, you can try reloading and doing it again.

Maybe it's different for each person, I'd be interested to hear if someone got an e-mail after a similar process on a different day.
