    this drives me nuts!!!!

i hate when the cpu bunts the ball up the line and the third baseman has an easy play on it, but the game makes me play it as the pitcher and they are safe 98% of the time. The one thing about fielding in this game I cannot stand.

What drives me nuts... like mentioned in other threads... are all the dive catches the CPU makes. Honestly, in 3 years of playing MLB 10, 11 & 12 off and on I have only made one dive catch in MLB12... with the catcher. All the while the CPU outfielders make at least one spectacular dive catch once every few games it seems like. It totally kills your rally when that happens. LOL.

That would drive me crazy for sure... BUT... I turn down the baserunner speed slider way down, so I don't fear bunts anymore and it is a lot easier for me to complete double plays. On the other hand my baserunners are slow too, which makes it hard for me to steal... but I still rather have everybody kinda slow than everybody normal fast.

The cpu diving was driving up the f'n wall the first month but i guess after all the updates and proper sliders, it has toned down a lot.

One thing that pisses me off is when the throw misses its target amd the cpu has proper back ups most of the time but when i make a bad throw, my backups are in lala lad while the cpu runner gets two bases when it should be one.

This is most annoying when its a bunt or 2 ft dribbler and the p, c, 3b makes a bad throw and the rfer is nowhere to be seen.

I capital LOVE this game & have ONLY thing that drives me nuts...

I have a runner on 2B, the SS or 2B man starts sneaking in behind me, I immediately tap the "get back!" button but my runner won't retreat until the screen changes (which is too late) & I get picked off!

Minus that, ALL good here ;-)

Fielding became too annoying to the point where i turned on auto fielding. Without it the CPU will make crazy plays that you won't be able to do. Auto makes it even. I have auto base running now as well. I focus on hitting, pitching and throwing and the game is more fun for me that way.

Same for me. I always use auto fielding and running. The only thing that I hate with auto running is the tagging up on short fly balls, and you just know your man is gonna be thrown out at the plate or at third.

I hate this, I also hate the fact that I cannot get a bunt down to save my life even if the 3rd baseman is playing back. The pitcher or catcher is always able to get to the ball and throw me out.

I agree with the diving catches, the CPU dives perfectly yet when I try to dive for a fly ball or even a ground ball up the middle, it is like my players just fall down rather than "dive" for the ball. My other issue is with the CPU throws; you hit the ball to the wall and head to second yet the outfielder gets the ball and immediately turns and fires the ball to the base right on line, no setting their feet or anything, just turns and throws a dart to get my runner out.

Maybe I am lucky but I don't have that much trouble with the diving catches. In fact I have no trouble with them, of course I only see them maybe once every 4 or 5 games. In fact I see the AI dive and miss the catch way more then they make the catch.

I also have no trouble bunting, in fact when I lay down a drag bunt, which is rare, I beat it out 90% of the time, and my sacrifice bunts always work, unless I pop it up, and that happens once in a while.

Yeah and when you bunt the pitcher all of a sudden is an All Star fielder and always throws you out

What drives me nuts is the fact that I, Myself can't seem to lay off pitches out of the zone with or without two strikes. i use guess pitch but can't seem to lay off balls out of the zone.

I just struck out 11 times Vs. the Braves in my last game the other day. I really suck, maybe my new glasses next week will finally get my able to see the ball better.

It drives me nuts when the cpu just decides you are going to lose. EVERY single pitch on the black becomes a ball and vice versa on taken pitches. The CPU #8 hitter has 12-15 pitch AB's because he suddenly has a nose to toes contact zone.

I have seen this a couple times and the most frustrating part it happened last night in my offline franchise NLCS game 2. I lost a heartbreaker in game 1 and game 2, I got completely JOBBED. At least 5 k's on changeups that were mostly out of the zone. Everybody knows K's up the confidence meter and once that happens even crappy pitchers become Cy Young.

I had at least 3 batted balls that were "wheelhouse"/"perfect" straight down the pipe and were popups to medium depth OF. Two of the three were power hitters/with normal swings....WTF!

Really freaking frustrating!!!! I cannot stop thinking about the 0-2 hole I'm in....even at work the next day.

last year I had some playoff games that felt a little "staged" I simply wasnt winning them no matter how hard I tried or what I did. for 1-2 batters at a time obvious strikes for the entire game were all of a sudden balls and then after I walked guys it went back to normal.

I dont believe in the cpu comeback stuff, but couldnt shake that staged game feeling last year. starting playoffs again soon. had started a round and then accidentally deleted my mlb 12 season file when trying to erase madden 12 settings. the button stuck. stinks, but I only simmed to the playoffs so no big loss. was only 2 games in.

I think for all of you that cry foul on balls that are right down the throat of the plate, check out our hitters hot and cold zones... not everyone has hot zones in the middle of the plate.. this is why i have mine on, this way i know what zone to choose when i use guess pitch...

so if your center part of your zone is clear or light to dark blue, guess what... you aint going to get a hit... your hot and cold zones are there for your use to see where you need to be looking for pitches... so you CAN get good wood on balls... it isn't cheating by using it...

do you think that major league pitchers have no way of knowing where to not pitch to hitters.. where do you think we get the hot and cold zones they use.... they exsist, they are studied and built about by stats... the very thing that drives baseball... so go ahead take a peak at where your hot and cold zones are .. who knows you may learn something...

oh and for those that don't want to use it... there is a setting called "preview" so it only shows up before the first pitch of every at bat for each batter... after that it is gone...

I guess i should lay off pitches down the middle. I never had this problem in previous versions but for some reason this year it seems to be worse to get a ball down the middle. Most of my hr's are on balls low or outside, but if its in my 'wheelhouse' and with 'perfect timing' i know most the time i'm going to get out one way or another. Either i'll line out hard, ground out, or hit to the deep OF. Then they'll throw a 2SFB and i'm way in front and under it and i'll smash it for a HR (???)

I just couldnt figure out why i could hit a hr like, but ground on a much better pitch to hit. If it's in the wheelhouse, shouldn't i have a better chance to get a hit? especially if i have perfect timing.
