Re: Top Five Wishes for MLB 13: The Show

I would love to have the create a team notion carried out. Being able to build the team from the ground up would be great. That whole thing could be done like ncaa's teambuilder website and imported into the show. If not a team atleast be able to build our existing team a new stadium. Also along with the rainout and double header ideas mentioned earlier I would also love to see suspensions as well. Now I know they cant show the arguments anymore but to have to figure out how to work around one of your best players being suspended for 5 or 6 days in September or your ace missing a crucial start would add an even deeper layer to an already great game.

          Nice ideas.

Instead of generated counts, make it so that the game takes into account a hitters/pitchers stats and makes it harder to throw certain guys strikes (more borderline balls and a pitcher suddenly losing all control would be silly). We wouldn't want meatballs to these guys, just more balls (which the game has had problems distinguishing the differences between with control).

Expansion mode, relocation, and random events, etc. yes.

I'd love to see more presentation work done. Also online leagues which would allow for users to update Twitter feeds, and even create their own radio shows.

One of the most overlooked flaws in the game FOR YEARS, has been that the AI will NEVER call a player up based on performance to MLB. Only because of injuries does this happen.

Doubleheaders, rainouts, etc. too. I believe MVP 2005 had this.

          Deeper year-to-year statistics.

True roles for the user...am I the manager? GM? Owner? Why am I this weird hybrid of all of them?!

            ...but it bears repeating.

            -overhauled franchise mode

            -new announcing

-better presentation/stat overlays [last year took some baby steps, but they need to do what 2k did from 2k9 to 2k10. the change was astounding.

as far as franchise mode, i am sure thats getting a facelift. I'll eat a baseball if it stays the same.
if i remember correctly, the vita dev time stopped a franchise upgrade as well as an enhanced lighting model.
since the vita is bombing as predicted, and in the second year a game becomes easier and less time consuming, the show on ps3 should see a nice upgrade.

You'd really want this in franchise mode? You'd just want to manage games, but have the CPU control everything else? Or be a GM and have the CPU manage the games you're playing? Sounds awful to me.

                Justin,

Yeah, that's how I've been playing actually--I am the manager and the I let the game handle everything else. I use OOTP for my GMing fix.

If I do play GM mode, I'd likely just do a MOM and watch the games, but let my manager handle lineups and staff, etc.

I wouldnt want any of those reasons. Mine would be

                  - Fix the pitching and fielding mechanics. They need to get smoother. Sometimes the animations seem a little stiff.
                  - Expand the franchise mode. It has barely been changed around for years now.
                  - The player ratings for the pitchers and hitters dont seem to be as accurate like it was a couple of years ago.
                  - I would put commentary on here but they did change it a little but we will see.

Now that they have Steve Lyons on board which is a huge plus and they conveniently already all do commentary for MLB on FOX they would be foolish not to add FOX presentation into the broadcast

i think what would make this game really good is if we added historical teams similar to what 2k did with 2k13. maybe even some negro teams would make this game for me (being the sports fan i am) really fun and entertaining.

I am an avid player and addicted to MLB The Show since I couldn't play High Heat Baseball 2003. I would love to see a wider assortment of announcers...for example, I would love to see every teams regional TV & Radio Announcers incorporated into the game. The hardest part about getting this done, I imagine, it would be getting all of the announces together to put together all the tracks. Tell me what you guys think about this? I know we now have Blu-Disc capabilities so as far as memory that shouldn't be an issue. I'd love to hear your feedback. Also, there is a flaw in the game that when you utilize a pitcher to pinch hit (which you would like to do sometimes) that pitcher has to stay in the game an face one batter. For example, I am a Cub fan and while Zambrano was in the cubs I used to use him to pinch hit when I didn't want to use a position player...Anyways, the game is otherwise flawless. Thanks and I would love to hear other avid players point(s) of view.

I would rather have the base stealing and pick off mechanics improved to be more realistic as well as commentary sounding like an actual broadcast with seamless commentary. Improve the fielding and eliminate the frequency of balls hit off the pitcher.

I want them to make timing/pure analog a bit easier as in actually aim the PCI at the ball more often based on your player vision rating, especially if u guessed the location correctly.

However the biggest thing I want is a RTTS online like EAs FIFA and NHL series does it. You can do full 9v9 games with an Online version of your character. Would be so much fun.

I forgot to mention something...I would like to see them implement the PA announcers for every stadium. For example, when I am playing the Giants in San Francisco, I would like to hear the voice of Renel Brooks-Moon. And when my Cubbies are playing at home at Wrigley I would like to hear Andrew Belleson
