@ Dustin. Makes no sense every other sports franchise does it, NHL,Fifa, Nba 2K. Mor ehtan any other sport MLB baseballa ctually breaks down what they make every year including signing bonus so it's no secret it's public knowldege. MLB site has the contract, Teams have Call Conferences, press conferences where the players, agents, GMs and owners talk about the contract. MLBTR, Cot's and MLBs own site have the information.
It's your opnion or maybe they even told people they couldn't but I don't by it. Even if SCEA couldn't use players contracts, it still makes no sense why they're not even remotely close. Nick Swisher does not make 800 K , A Rod deosn't even make anything close to the 27 million a year he makes in real life.

I get SCEA spends a lot of time on other aspects of the game but they have the code for contracts they just need to put in the right amount, it would take paying someone for a day to do this. It's the same reason they have pitchers repertoire all wrong, under staffed or Jyust lazyness to look it up. You can't calim realsitic team budgets if none of the contracts are right.

I love this game =, but no reason why Team Budgets and Contracts can't be right they have the formula they just need to spend the time. Hire some of the guys on here that edit everything they haven't to make this game more complete. You have guys on here doing player edits and fixing Pitchers Repertoire for free becasue they love this game, SCEA should pay them to do it since most of these edits should have been done by them in the first place. I don't know SCEA budget or anything, maybe they're understaffed, They had the wrong blue for the Jays unifroms and even had Joey Bats in studio.

I just want to follow up my comment that SCEA does a great job, I just feel certain things like Contracts, Budgets and Players not retiring during the length of their contracts, More reason for Scotuing and player development would make Franchise so much more Realistic.

I see the Budgets and Contracts as easy fixes they just need to up the amount of money.

They are as close as the MLB and MLBPA would allow them.
(although I doubt they asked specifically about Swishers)
The uniforms were the ones they were told would be used.

As close as they will allow them, really? I never liked 2k's Baseball game but they were closer than the show. I'm sorry man but I don't believe that, they're no where near being close. A-Rod is at 14 makes 27 million. Ichrio makes 19 million in real life in the game he's making 5.3 million. SCEA got shaffted in their license argreement consider every other sports franchise has realistic contracts. MLB doesn't hide any of these things they more than any other sport let the Players, Owners, Agents and Gm's talk about the contracts they signed in Press releases, Press conferences and on their won MLB site release the details. Forbes, ESPN, Cots, MLBTR every Media guy in baseball is given these details and give them to the public. So why is SCEA and MLB so secretive in the video game realm. I get it they work hard maybe they don't have enough time but I don't believe their license agreemnet makes it so they can't. Baseball contracts more than any sport make the details of Contracts public knowledge. Those contracts in the show are not even close to real life. Swisher makes 11 million more.

2k may of been given special privlage since they were paying for an exclusive liscense. But it's true that SCEA is restricted by how close they can match the contracts. There are a lot of small legal restrictions that may not make sense to us but you have to believe them when they tell you that's how it is.

Yeah, I've always wondered about the contact issue. Really, I understand they can't be exactly the same, but there should be algorithms to make the salaries relatively consistent with real life. So, basically I don't care if they are right, just as long as they are comparatively similar, i.e. if a player makes 10m in real life and 7.5m in the game, the team budget should be 75% of real life, and increase/decrease based on the same percentage.

I really hope they work this out, because it's definitely one of my main issues with the game.

Know idea why they'd lie but MLB doesn't take the time to sit down and tell them what SCEA can put for each player, which would be the only thing that makes sense going by what the other guy said. He said MLB tells them what to put.... apparently MLB loves to waste time. Bud Selig: "Nick Swisher makes 12 million in the game give him 800 K"
This isn't a bid deal, which i know it seems like I'm making it a bid deal. i just don't like being lied to. Can Gurantee MLB has some kind of written law in the license agreement where they set players contracts.
SCEA obviously just doesn't do it. I guess MLB told them to give the blue Jays the wrong color blue aswell.

However if somewhere in the agreement their was a % taken off each players contract for the game, I'd get that. Since A-rod makes a shade under 60% of what he makes in real life, I'd think okay, but then Swisher makes 93% less.

Did Ichiro deserve that 19 million though? Contracts and dollar amounts are based on overall in the Show, the $5.3 M or whatever he was making is reflective of his current ability. The MLB might not tell SCEA specifically what to put, but they sure as hell prevent them from putting the exact dollar amount, so why not leave it to the game's engine to determine contracts? If you're that vexed about it, use the free agent 3 glitch.

You're right MLB isn't saying what each contract should be, but they are saying what it can't be, and how close it can't be

Conspiracy theory, really? you have as much proof as I do, which is why I said I could be wrong but I don't buy it. If you really think MLB tells SCEA what each individual makes then so be it. But, Why would there be such an agreement in the first place when MLB releases the contract details to the public..... all I'm saying.

Your wrong on money dictating the contract. Ichy has a higher overall than A-Rod or at least not enough to be that far apart. Secondly it's not about whether Icy deserves the 19 million, it's what he made. Just trying to make Franchise more realistic. I think real contracts or at least way closer and Real team budgets would make Franchise so much better.
I don't want to see Cano signing with the Rays, when only 7 of the 30 MLB teams can actually afford him.
That's all I'm going to say on the matter, if you want to believe puppys are rainbows then go ahead.
