Honestly, nobody would really know who he was if he didn't drop trou after being called out at first in a game. He was a marginal utility player and bounced around a ton.

I haven't heard his work in the booth, though.

Really, next to visiting the stadium all you need is high quality camera shots direct from the stadium broadcast crews for the grass and dirt work. I don't really care how they do it just do something. Put on MLB TV for all I care.

It can't be that hard to visit the stadiums near your office to do some photo caps of the grass and dirt. What you have now is simply not good enough. More so the color matching.

If modders can do this stuff for Fallout and Skyrim in a month or so a paid dev team can also do this.

It takes two guys at most two weeks to get some decent dirt and grass textures going unless you are going full monty on the thing which I highly doubt. Another week to do color matching. Please. For the love of god. Anything. Some stadiums look so awful it hurts. Toronto anyone? They will be contenders next year. Why and the heck would anyone want to play in a stadium where the turf and dirt look absolutely nothing like it does in real life?

I don't think this means anything. If you look in other shots, like the Cabrera one posted earlier in the thread, they are still wearing team caps, plus if you look closely enough Ellsbury is still wearing a Red Sox jersey so I think it is just either tough to see, or it is just an early screenshot that wasn't touched up too much.

The Cabrera shot is from Vita so I don't think that means anything. They talked about addressing this hat issue for some time now and I'm hoping for the best. It might be a bit early to jump the gun but that's definitely a photo of ellsbury with a blank black hat on...no touch ups will be done there, it's either a photo of a player with a team hat or not. That's definitely a non team hat.

I would just love being able to load up MLB The Show and play todays real match ups with all the same updated rosters game day line ups. And also have the play by play commentary talk about things that have happen in the current real life games

Would be so cool to have this in MLB The Show.

I have a feeling we will get a game mode like MLB Today when MLB The Show is released for PS4.

Nah. That would be in the second or third version for the PS4. What you would get in the first version is a stripped down version of things to come. There would be things that we had in the PS3 versions that are taken away. Not bashing SCEA, just saying that this is what always happens with the arrival of new consoles.

Will the following be addressed in the MLB: The Show 13?

* AI not throwing, over to try and pick off a runner.

* AI rarely, even on highest slider setting, attempting to steal

* one-pitch mode. speeds things up greatly. OOTP has it. It doesn't affect the game negatively in any way

* glitches in team schedules, causing system to lock up or franchises to have to be restarted

* lack of variety in hits. There should be obvious hooks and slices that aren't just foul balls

* improvement in the animations library. the same ol' characters walking up and down the stairs in robotic fashion really took a lot from the feel of the gam.

* realistic player injuries (injury animation, frequency of injuries according to type, length of injury)

* actual players in the system, not fake minor league player names.

No, there is no players union for the minor leagues. The rest we will have to wait and see.

Russell said early this year that the grass was something they were going to focus on but after seeing the new pics i don't see any diff at all... I hope the give some TLC to the grass specially Roger's Stadium...that turf looks weird..

Yeah, until something is done about the grass and dirt we see in ever baseball stadium every game we ever go to, then this is going to be brought up by a myriad number of people. It's something that simply cannot be overlooked year after year. I don't care if you think it is whining. When I go to a stadium these are some of the things that stand out and they are sorely lacking in the best sports game out there.

And they are not that hard to fix! That is what the whole problem is. I see modders do beyond excellent grass and clouds so I know a paid dev team is capable of these things.

I don't think modders aren't on the same time and budget restrictions the Sony San Diego team is on.
They are capable of doing it, its just a matter of if they have time/money to get to it, when also adding features they had as a higher priority, as well as catering to us OCD gamers on here, with adding the little things.


We know by now, if something isn't in the Show, its always due to one of these three things.

- time
- money
- system capabilities

Also, we don't know if its too hard to fix, plus, who knows if doing the grass messes something else up? Most likely not, but we don't know.

If we want something in there, chances are the Show team does as well.
If they put everything we wanted in the game, it would come out once a console cycle.
