OH...
Yeah..forgot that...thanks!
I think there is a way to add like a high step...toe tap..(for old school guys think Strawberry or Eric Davis) I think.
I didn't write it on my paper, but I think that's in there as well....I just forgot to write it down.

I do pertaining to the first impression you posted. Can any of the CD guys comment on if players retire at fairly early ages as well, in the past its been around 34-36 that they start retiring which is very unrealistic and annoying. Also does that mean that all the MLB players have appropriate contract lengths in the game. You mentioned Pujols, but what about the other long term deals? Fielder, S. Castro, Wright, Kemp, Longoria, others as well. Do they all have their long contracts even if the salary is inaccurate?
All of the players listed have an accurate contract length. Lorne_ SCEA does a great job doing the correct lengths he was even adding extensions as they were happening...ie Motte.
Now as to when players retire. Historical data is used to look at when players typically retire in real life. If you look at real baseball many players retire in their 30s. The exceptions are the ones that perform at a higher level or have held on to their tools or have long term deals. Same applies for the show. If you give a 32 year old a 10 year deal he's staying till 42. If his attributes drop considerably he'll retire. I think retirements look real good.Comment

So just to clarify can you attach these custom animations to any stance? It was cool to see when they added in a few of the toe taps like Derosa and Alexei Ramirez in the past games. Awesome you'll be able to pick your stride too.

For example in the past games Arod would retire at 35-36, even after a good year and having pretty high attributes. Same with Jeter. Does that still happen? Or has this been reworked to not happen as often. I'm fine with some players retiring in their mid 30s, it happens. But I don't want to see every player retiring at that age like before. I could always count on Jeter and Arod retiring one or two seasons into franchise or RTTS. I get that this wont happen now due to the contract lengths, but I'm asking theoretically if they only had 1 year deals in the game.Last edited by MrOldboy; 01-25-2013, 11:51 PM.Comment

So has this been unchanged in 13?

those other options are then added to the stance.
Any stance in the editor is available for that(some options are tied to certain stances(not specific stances....but the "type of stance".though.....because they have to match the start/stop points of the stance)
Players chance to retire(CHANCE OF)....at age XX
unless...contract
Then to end of contract.

You need not worry about Jeter and Arod with high attributes at the age of 38.Comment

Re: Community Day 2013 - FRANCHISE MODE/EDITOR
At the risk of beating a dead horse, a simple yes or no would suffice, can i take Victor Martinez stance, add a high leg kick and 2 handed follow through, and give it to Jose Bautista to use?NFL : Atlanta Falcons
MLB : Toronto Blue Jays

No, the animation core doesn't work like that. You can take V.Martinez stance and use his custom animation set or some of the generic's you can't mix and match different animation sets from real MLB players.Comment

Isn't that what his example was ? Taking V-Mart's stance and adding those generic things ...Comment

Re: Community Day 2013 - FRANCHISE MODE/EDITOR
My bad if I got that wrong.
(I was changing the follow through and walkups...take strike...etc...never tried each one)

Re: Community Day 2013 - FRANCHISE MODE/EDITOR
Oh god I am so confused now.
OK maybe a more simple example.
In the editor I do this.
Stance: Derek Jeter
Follow Through: 2
Can you use ANY of the custom animations that Knight listed on that Jeter stance?
So can I make Derek Jeter have follow through #2?
Or are MLB players locked in their animation sets?Comment
