Not to seem cynical, but has anyone on the dev team gave any indication of if they would consider toning down the game a bit in order to facilitate what people would want in the game. I feel the memory limitation issue is one that should have been taken into account very early on and the game should have been designed around that issue. I'm sure they did to some extent, but hearing the dev team give this as an issue when the game just isn't stable (crashes) and the framerate makes the game unplayable in spots makes me feel kind of bad.

I completely understand the memory and system limitations, but these limitations should have been taken into account before the game was ever put on the system. I'd gladly take a reduction in the visuals (player models, stadium geometry, ect.) if it would help get the game running smoothly, be stable and add in some of the features people want on here. If they cant get it running smoothly and stable at all due to the limitations I don't know if I'll be a customer of the vita version again.

I think when they are talking about memory limitations they just mean how much data they can get on a PS Vita cartridge. That shouldn't have much to do with the stability of the game, it crashing and not running smoothly to my understanding. I'm no expert though.

I don't think the graphics should nor need to be toned down. In my opinion they are solid, nothing less but also nothing more than that for what the Vita can handle. For sure a Vita game shouldn't look much worse than they do in The Show 12, considering it is already running at 30fps (which would be good if stable) and below native resolution.

The game just needs to be optimized further for the Vita. MLB The Show 12 was only the first edition, with limited development time and no patch support. Considering that it ran pretty smooth I would say.

Honestly, I am not to worried about audio. I never have the volume up on my vita. I usually play late at night with volume on 0. Though I may be in the minority on this.

I play late too but with my headphones cranked! But I still don't care about fancy audio either. I'm just glad the mode will be there. Although I see myself playing The Show Live more than anything.

I'm pretty sure when everyone is saying memory they are talking about MEMORY. Not data storage. MLB 12 was not a huge game, other Vita games are larger. The framerate is SO FAR from acceptable. Sure its 30 fps, but the drops are constant and consistent.

From what I can find MLB 12 was 2.8gb. There are several games around 3.2-3.3gb. So I'm pretty sure when the devs and others say memory, they are talking about the available memory on the vita hardware, not the data storage size of the vita carts.

Yea blazblue is 3.33GB and the biggest Vita game.

ahh yea, I thought you were referring to that article:

And there they are talking about storage, not memory, indeed. Didnt really consider the difference btwn memory and storage in my post, my bad. Anyways, where do the developers actually talk about memory limitations? Just wondering.
I mean doesnt the Vita actually have more Ram than the PS 3? V-ram might be lower but so is the screen resolution on the vita, so that should somewhat even things out.

Do the same while my better half watches what women watch. Btw, any word on how many cameras for batting and pitching in the Vita version?

I'm about to board my plane, but when we say memory we are indeed talking about storage data on the game cartridge, not processing...

Short answer until we get around to answering the specific questions: the game both looks and runs better than 12 did.

Yeah if possible can you comment on ball size, homerun trots and or replays, players in dugouts when the ball is in play, and lastly chipmunk faces on created players.

-Ball size is about 10% smaller.

-I believe there are some home run trots. Need to double check.

-No players in the dugout they are out because of frame-rate.

-There has been some work done with faces but do not expect it to be totally absent.

I am surprised about the no players in the Dugout, did they just take them out? I remember reading they were in there from CES.

Yes I think freeze who was on the CES mentioned that there were players in the dogout.

I think Russell confirmed it himself before that they added home run trots.
Damn, I really hoped they would get the faces right.. What about the framerate slow downs and does the game still just cut off at the end of games?
