Ok, instead of quoting posts individually and answering, I will just put everything in one post. If I missed a question, feel free to ask and I'll try to remember.

As far as the Vita version is concerned:

    - All the same modes as PS3 version, except Diamond Dynasty. (Yes, even The Show Live)
    - Universal Profile
    - Online CrossPlay HR Derby
    - No Rain
    - Same Stadium updates as PS3 (no Classic Stadiums)
    - No batter walk-ups
    - Button Accuracy throwing is in
    - Still no button to switch players while fielding (a mystery to Nem and myself too)
    - There is pre-game and mid inning presentation (no score OSD tho. Although it was in for MOMode?)
    - No selectable presentation style (can't make less or more)
    - no post-game presentation, except player of the game OSD
    - There are strikeout cutscenes
    - K's accumulate in stadiums
    - The "OUT" "FOUL" popups are gone.
    - No custom cams, but more cams added
    - Same fielding cam options
    - No players in dugout
    - Schedule match real times, for the most part (some Saturday games were listed at 3:30 but real life schedule says 12:30. Some were off by 5 minutes, but very minor)
    - As stated, the ball is 10% smaller
    - The same SimCast/Fast Forward feature as the PS3 version.
    - Will be available as a downloadable title on PSN

And for the major concerns... Yes, players do look better, but of course still not as detailed as PS3. The lighting is slightly better (day and night games).and the graphics are more crisp. The crowd looks a lot better too. I took a picture of 12 and 13 running side by side, but I'll have to get permission to post it first. I didn't see any pitching or cutscene slowdowns, but I still don't know the exact framerate it was running. It was noticeably more stable however. I didn't play with the volume up very loud, or with headphones so sorry I can't comment.

Overall I think it is a very nice upgrade from 12, just for the additions from both versions. I don't see anyone playing it and thinking its the same game or just a roster update. There are some things I'm sure we wanted added, but lets keep asking anyway, going forward. Lastly, I don't know the resolution was, but overall I thought it looked very good visually.

There you have it, my impressions.

One thing that I mention that could be important to some is that the pitch delay option seems to be working as intended (fast, normal, slow).

One complaint that I often heard last year was that Fast Play is too quick, little time between pitches. By using slow pitch delay setting, you can now slow down the game quite a bit.

The option wasn't working for MLB 12... I believe it was a bug (which was not patched like the PS3 version got).

so which version made the bigger step forward from what they were last year according to your first impressions, the vita or ps3?

Here's a quote by Russell that illustrates the data storage concern. Even though he says memory they are not referring to system memory (as in Random Access Memory or RAM), they are referring to data storage on the Vita carts which most people do not refer to as memory (but it is not wrong to refer to the data storage on the vita carts as memory since I assume they are using some sort of physical flash memory right?).

But I still don't fully understand that argument completely. Are they saying that this year the cart will be completely filled? Last year the game was 2.8gb, the limit for Vita games is at least 3.3gb as someone pointed out was Blazblue's download size which was also released physically. If the devs continue to use the storage space argument, I'd expect to see the size of MLB 13 to be around 3.2-3.3gb. If it isn't than I'd have to assume as a consumer that space was left on that cart.

I really hope that there is still room on the Vita cart or else I fear the Vita version might become a bit stagnant especially on the presentation side. If that happens I really hope the devs become a bit more flexible and remove modes, presentations, and other elements to facilitate the Vita version keeping up with the core gameplay improvements the PS3/PS4 version gets. I'd be willing to sacrifice all modes other than RTTS and Franchise if those modes continue to keep up.

Thanks for checking out the Vita version at CD as I was much more concerned about that version than the PS3 one. I'm glad you didn't notice any framerate drops, although I'm sure a lot more testing would need to be made.

If the game is stable and at least 30 fps throughout with no drops, I'll be very happy. The other additions are just gravy to me at that point. I really hope that the performance is what it should be this year.

I don't think that's a very relevant way to think though, given that these two versions are not competing products. Both have pros and cons, and it is ultimately up to your usage (portable vs. full console, etc.)

there are rumors that the maximum size the vita cart can take is 4GB. so that could be the limit.

That has been what I've read as well, doesn't mean 4gb of usable space though.

But that is why I am confused about this whole storage limit argument. It doesn't seem like they've hit it yet. Or did they actually hit it this year?

On a 4gb card only 3.6 is usable, this year the Show is just about there. The team does not want it to be stripped down either but there are mandates from Sony that have to be followed. There really is nothing else to discuss about it.

From 2,8 to about 3,6gb doesnt sound too bad to me!

Another question I have, which you guys probably can answer me without going to the community days, is if those features mentioned on the fact sheet under 1. to 50. are in the Vita version?

Are the changes affecting gameplay in the vita version though? As it could affect crossplay quite a bit.

                            Stuff like:
                            1. Hitting engine improvements deliver more hit variety than ever before

                            35. More catcher animations on plays at the plate providing more exciting outcomes
                            36. Enhanced CPU base running. Less predictable and more human like behavior
                            37. New base running animations "around the bases". Allows for more control of your base runner

                              Stuff like:
                              1. Hitting engine improvements deliver more hit variety than ever before
                              2. Wider timing window across all difficulty levels
                              3. Improved ball physics (less ground rule doubles etc.)
                              35. More catcher animations on plays at the plate providing more exciting outcomes
                              36. Enhanced CPU base running. Less predictable and more human like behavior
                              37. New base running animations "around the bases". Allows for more control of your base runner
                              38. New Pulse pitching, Meter pitching, and strike zone art
                              etc...
The same game engine... so they should be identical.

Did the players and managers in the dugout just get taken out?
